James Harden hails new NBA rule

Speaking to Mackenzie Salmon of USA Today Sports, James Harden?was positive about the latest addition to the NBA season, the In-Season Tournament.

When asked about it, the player said, “I am not sure yet. Because I haven’t, we haven’t played yet. But I can give you a little bit more information once you know a minute what happens. But just beforehand, the excitement, around the tournament, is gonna have the fans more engaged.”

Harden said the new rule will give players some more competitiveness. “Obviously,” he added, “we are competitive during the season, but it will give us something to compete for, within the season, so I am excited for it. I am sure a lot of other players are excited for it as well.”

All about the NBA’s In-Season Tournament

The NBA’s Adam Silver brings in the In-Season Tournament, the first which will be played out in the 2023-2024 season. In the tournament, the thirty NBA teams will be grouped randomly to compete against each other. The tournament will consist of Group Play and Knockout Rounds. The entire tournament will run from November to the finals on December 9.

There are six groups in all, and each of these groups has five NBA teams, chosen and put together depending on their win-loss standing in the previous season. Each team will play four games to move to the Knockout rounds. The tournament will have a brand new trophy, titled the NBA Cup.
