Stewart-Haas Racing had their worst season since Gene Haas and Tony Stewart joined forces in 2009. With zero wins in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, the team running under Stewart’s mentorship performed miserably on the 36-race calendar. However, amidst all the setbacks during the season, someone has shown trust in SHR’s pursuit of dominance. But who?

Tony Stewart’s #4 Ford Mustang has a ‘Sunny’ side to it

When Josh Berry replaced Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman at Hendrick Motorsports and clinched one top-5 and 3 top-10s in the Cup Series races, he showcased his obvious superiority on the ovals. From there, the doors to SHR opened, and Berry became a prospect for replacing Kevin Harvick.

Coming to this day, Berry would be starting for SHR at the preseason Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum, piloting the #4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. However, Berry will not be driving shy of sponsors as NASCAR’s longtime sponsor SunnyD has joined hands for primarily sponsoring Berry’s ride.

Such a breakthrough can’t be kept away from the community, and NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass ensured it reached everyone’s eyes as he unraveled the sponsorship news on X and wrote, “SunnyD will be a sponsor for Josh Berry in 2024.”

The citrus orange paint scheme with blue waves spreading through the edges of the 500 HP American muscle is a sight to behold. And who knows, Berry could even give the bittersweet taste of rivalry to other racers, resembling the paint scheme of his car.

During his 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, Harvick drove the cars backed by several sponsors, and one among them was SunnyD. Although the brand stayed with the 2014 Cup Series for the entire 2023 season, they primarily sponsored only two races.

With a small presence on the #4 Ford and branding on Harvick’s race suit, SunnyD stayed with the legend throughout the season. However, the brand backed Harvick’s Cup Series Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway race, and the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway in much more visible ways.

The Darlington Raceway paint scheme was a mixture of orange and yellow, with green color taking care of #4 and the brand’s name. But if we look at the Hollywood Casino 400’s paint scheme, it’s almost the same as Berry’s paint scheme, except the car now dons SHR’s brand-new logo.
