Basketball legend and 23XI Racing’s co-owner Michael Jordan shared his reaction to Bubba Wallace clinching his first-ever win. In an interview, Jordan revealed that he cried when Wallace won at Talladega.

He said, “To see the emotion from Bubba tells you everything about how much work he’s put into it, how much effort and how much he wanted to win. And I even dropped a tear because I know his passion.”

Moreover, Jordan revealed that the team’s co-owner and Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Denny Hamlin also had an emotional response. He shared, “And I know Denny had to feel the same. It’s like a little brother actually winning a race, and he put forth the energy.”

Although Jordan could not witness this historic moment firsthand, it seems it is still quite close to his heart. Furthermore, while reminiscing about what exactly he felt at the moment, he said, “I was looking forward to giving Denny a big hug. And hopefully get to see Bubba and let them know because I wasn’t there that I was with them in spirit and I’m very proud of Bubba and what he achieved.”

Michael Jordan did share that Denny Hamlin too had an emotional response to Bubba Wallace’s win. And Hamlin admitted that the moment Wallace won felt like his child has achieved something big. Hamlin explained that when he saw Jordan and Wallace being emotional, he too experienced a surge of feelings.

He said, “I thought it was honestly like watching your kid do something. You get more proud and happy for them than what you do for yourself.” Moreover, he explained that he took something important away that day. He said that before witnessing this, he felt like he took wins for granted.
