The difference between knowing two children are yours in your heart and having it officially recognised is what made Joey Logano and his wife, Brittany, so emotional in their latest social media video. In May 2026, the Penske driver revealed that the couple had obtained their foster care license and welcomed two children into their home. Nearly six months later, they have now found a permanent home.

On October 22, the couple announced on X that they had officially adopted the children. As they addressed them in an emotional video, their voices wavered. Brittany found the words to capture the moment.

“After many days of limbo and uncertainty, today is day one of forever,” Brittany said in the video that Logano posted on X. “For your dad and I, day one of forever was a while ago. We both knew that you were our babies almost immediately after meeting you.”

Logano and Brittany had obtained their foster care certification in May and opened their home to placements earlier that month. The agency they were working with soon placed two children with them, and Logano shared the news with the NASCAR community on May 26. He described them as a “couple of cute little kids” who were “permanently” in their home in Concord, North Carolina.

It was already an emotional moment for the No. 22 Ford driver. He and Brittany had been considering adopting foster children for years, but their busy lives and the demands of the NASCAR schedule had held them back. They knew they would be fully responsible for the children and waited until they felt ready to give two children a new home. In their recent adoption announcement, Logano also spoke about how his faith had shaped his view of the journey.

His post on X had a caption of “It’s official!” and cited Proverbs 3:5-6, a passage about trusting in the Lord rather than relying solely on one’s own understanding.

“Basically, all of this is just God’s blessing; basically, love him and let him take the steering wheel,” Logano wrote. “Sometimes you want to control our lives and control everything we can, but in this case, we let go, and he guided us to the right place, for sure, with you guys.”

Logano has always been open about his Christian faith. He has spoken about how attending church and grounding his identity in his beliefs helped him handle the pressures of racing with a healthier perspective, ultimately benefiting his performance. Earlier this year, ahead of the postseason race at Kansas Speedway, he reiterated his priorities, saying that he puts faith first, family second, and his job third.

Today, Logano has plenty to be grateful for across all three aspects of his life. His family has grown from five to seven, and he remains one of the top drivers in the Cup Series garage, with three championships to his name and a shot at a fourth still alive this season.

What made Joey Logano and Brittany decide it was time to take the step

Logano reportedly invested $6 million in his foundation in 2013 to support children and young adults facing crises, particularly those in foster care. Since then, the foundation has impacted over 250,000 young people nationwide and supported initiatives such as Youth Villages, awarding it a $100,000 grant to help young people transition out of foster care and into independent living.

However, Logano also wanted to make a difference closer to home by fostering and adopting children himself. That decision wasn’t easy, as his NASCAR commitments kept him on the road from February to November, making it difficult for either him or Brittany to find the time to take on the responsibility.

Brittany’s mother had worked in the foster care system, giving her an understanding of the challenges foster families face. In North Carolina, becoming a foster parent means background checks, fingerprinting, home inspections, and hours of training to care for children affected by trauma. Logano and Brittany also had to work with social workers and biological families.

A church service and an event organised by one of their foundation’s foster care partners eventually pushed them to apply. For years, they had put off the decision because of their hectic travel schedules. But during one church service, the sermon focused on adoption and the urgent need for foster families. To them, it felt like a spiritual calling, a message from God.

Welcoming two more children into their home proved to be a blessing for the Loganos. Back in May, Joey spoke about how happy he was to see his three children, Hudson, Jameson, and Emilia, welcome their new siblings.

“To see them step up and share a room and do some of these things that have to be done has really been heartwarming. My wife’s the rock star of the whole group because, listen, I’m gone a lot,” he said.

The couple has kept the adopted children’s names and ages private, choosing to keep the focus on their growing family rather than their personal details.

For Brittany and Logano, the children had felt like theirs almost from the start. Now that the adoption is official, the family can look forward to the future Brittany described as “day one of forever.”
