Bubba Wallace not only delighted his team, his fans, and his family with his victory in Kansas, but he also delighted, naturally, his co-owner Michael Jordan. It’s no big secret that Jordan likes to win.

The GOAT of the NBA made this aspect of his personality pretty clear during his career and he continues to do so after his retirement with his NASCAR team as well as his NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets.

But after Wallace’s dominating win, there emerged an interesting statistic about the performances of Jordan’s two sports teams, something many wouldn’t have noticed at first.

The statistic, in this case, is the fact that Jordan now has more playoff wins with 23XI Racing than he’s had with Hornets in the last five seasons.

As you’d expect, NASCAR fans went wild with this realization.

Bubba Wallace on having Michael Jordan as his boss

In an interview from last year, Bubba Wallace candidly revealed how up-to-speed Michael Jordan already was with NASCAR and understood the way the sport works.

We didn’t really have to teach him much,” he said. “We had to help him get a better understanding for things but it’s been a lot of fun working with him and his team getting everybody’s feet underneath themselves to make sure we’re all doing this right way.”

Wallace added that “it’s cool” having someone like Jordan involved in his team and a personality he’s associated with. The #23 driver who currently drives the #45 car admitted that the NBA legend “stepping up in a way” which he did for him, is something he’ll forever be grateful for.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to thank him enough,” he said. “He gave me an opportunity to shine and put my best foot forward.”

“I definitely don’t take that for granted,” he added.
