Joey Gallo suited up for one last time
Before the trade deadline on Monday, Gallo suited up in the Pinstripes for probably the last time. And he talked about his year in the Yankees went. He had fans booing him, constantly criticizing him over his play, and shattered his confidence.?
Gallo knew he was going to get traded from the moment the Yankees acquired his replacement, Andrew Benintendi. He was ready, and he was waiting for it. As much as he was going to miss being with the Yankees, he and his parents were ready to know where will he would be going.?
During the 10 minutes of the interview before Monday’s game, he said, “I don?t go out in the streets.” Additionally, he said,?”I really don?t want to show my face too much around here.”?

Fans had different reactions to Gallo’s interview. Reactions included whether they’ve gone overboard with how they have treated Gallo. Or whether he deserved what he got.
It started with one of the fans saying, “We went too far as a fanbase.”
If Joey Gallo didn’t feel comfortable walking down the street, we went too far as a fanbase. It’s one thing to boo someone on the field, it’s another thing to take it off the field. That isn’t “high standards”, that’s toxic and vicious.

Some dudes aren’t built for pinstripes. I wish Joey the best moving forward but he wasn’t good at any aspect of the game while in New York.
