It’s the D-Day for the Dodgers, folks! Just two weeks ago, the fiery LA squad looked unstoppable, tipped to win it all and even chase that elusive back-to-back World Series dream that no team has achieved since the Yankees’ iconic 1998–2000 run. But that dream is fading fast! With Game 6 on the horizon and the Blue Jays holding the upper hand, the pressure is sky-high in LA. What’s even more shocking? The backlash isn’t just hitting the team; it’s circling right around their biggest star, Shohei Ohtani.

Well, it all started with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. With the Blue Jays trailing 2-1 against the mighty Dodgers in the World Series, the Canadian-Dominican powerhouse decided to take it on his shoulders in Game 4. And the most iconic moment came when the 26-year-old drilled a go-ahead two-run home run off Ohtani to give the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead in the game, which eventually ended in Toronto’s favor. Honoring the inning, Topps, the American trading card manufacturing brand, tried to immortalize that iconic moment on its trading cards.
Meanwhile, Ohtani couldn’t see much action on the pitch. He went 0 for 3 with a walk and two strikeouts. Vladi Jr ruined the day of even one of the greatest stars of the game, and that’s the emotion that hung in the air as the game concluded at Dodger Stadium.

“We’re facing quality arms at this time of year against really good teams,” Ohtani said through his interpreter post-game. “We’re facing the best of the best, so I think it’s not that easy. At the same time, we could do at least the bare minimum and put up some runs.” The Dodgers star was on deck when the game concluded in favor of the Canadian giant.

Even rapper Drake, a Toronto native who supports the Blue Jays, took a dig at the Dodgers. “One More,” he called after the Canadian team won 6-2, tying the series 2-2.
For a team that came on the wrong side of an 18-inning Game 3, Guerrero Jr switched the momentum in the next 24 hours. His highlight moment? Hitting a two-run homer off Ohtani in the third inning. He was beaming with joy. “I believe in this team, man,” said Guerrero, who spurred the Jays with his seventh homer of the postseason. “This team is something special.”
However, fans are not happy, and it has nothing to do with the outcome of the game.

Fans call out $500m sports brand for not adding Shohei Ohtani’s image to the card
Canadian fans are thumping their fist in the air following Tuesday’s victory. Topps captured Vladdy Jr’s iconic two-run shot. However, according to the fans, a better snap, showcasing both Vladi Jr. and Ohtani, could have been chosen to deliver the impact the Canadian star had on the pitch.
One fan wrote on X, “Should’ve been this instead,” accompanied by Vladdy and Ohtani’s full profile in that iconic moment. As it seems, Ohtani’s almost inrecognizable snap, along with Vladdy, has made the blunder this time. Obviously, the fans wanted to relish the moment on their trading card, with Ohtani’s emotions captured in the photograph as well.
Obviously, you cannot blame the fans for justifying their emotions and the moment, for the Blue Jays finally secured an impressive feat against the Dodgers, tying the series 2-2. A fan wrote, “Used the wrong image Imo.”

Another netizen shared, “Bruh, come on, this is the pic to immortalize,” attached with a more wholesome snap that captured both the players and showed Vladdy’s impact in that moment. After Monday’s game, Ohtani became the first player in postseason history to reach the base nine times during a World Series game, but Tuesday brought in a reality check.
Another user did not sugarcoat his words and bluntly poured out his frustration. “Literally done everything humanly possible there to make sure it’s not identifiable that Ohtani was the one getting hammered out the park there. Impressive.”
Blue Jays edged out the LA Dodgers 6-2. Following initial hiccups, when he allowed three runs in the start, the first time since August, he did not record a hit during the whole game. Another Vladdy fan poured out, “I can’t quite see the pitcher’s name or number on his jersey? Can you find out for me?”
Naturally, fans are disappointed over this blunder.
