The New York Mets have been making many executive changes in their clubhouse since the beginning of this year. They just hired David Stearns in a very crucial role. And now, they have reportedly hired a media man as the president of their business operations.

Scott Havens, the newest member of the Mets clubhouse, was announced in his presidential post just now. Although he has no connections to the sports world, his role doesn’t demand as much experience in athletics as it does in handling their business dealings.

Havens has been working with media powerhouse Bloomberg since 2015 as the chief executive of operations. Delving into the sports scene seems like a welcome challenge for the business aficionado. His induction into the MLB was announced through a Twitter post made by Joel Sherman, a baseball columnist for the New York Post.
Scott Havens has been named president of business operations for the New York Mets. He had been the CEO of Bloomberg Media, which he joined in 2015. He will run all the day-to-day business such as legal and ballpark of the Mets except baseball operations.

The New York Mets’ owner, Steve Cohen, was on the search for a new president for the team, according to Sherman. The previous stakeholder in that post, Sandy Alderson, recently stepped down from his seat to opt for an advisory role.
As the president of business operations, Havens is expected to deal with everyday affairs that go on throughout the organization, except for one division. The unit in question is the Department of Baseball Operations, which is led by David Stearns. Other than their presidential hires, what other changes has the team made to their office this year?
The Mets’ meticulous maneuvers
The New York Mets also hired their new team manager this season. After facing much speculation about the Mets’ prospective managerial hire of Craig Counsell, the former Brewers manager, and Stearns’ old friend, the team finally settled on Carlos Mendoza. This will be the first managerial role for Mendoza after he spent five seasons working with the Yankees as their bench coach.
Other than Mendoza, the Mets also hired Kevin Mahala, a former Phillies member, as the hitting coordinator for their minor league. Before his Mets job, Mahala was working as an instructor for the Phillies minor league. It seems like the Metsies are determined to do whatever it takes to clinch a World Series pennant for the next season!
