Just a few weeks ago, the conversation around the AL East centered on the Red Sox’s inability to get Rafael Devers to play at first base. Devers publicly countered the team’s intention to relocate him. But take a look at Boston’s biggest rivals in the league, and the contrast couldn’t be sharper. The Yankees got names who take flexibility as a challenge. Ask them to play, they will take any position!

No better example of that than their newest addition: Jazz Chisholm Jr. The former Marlin hasn’t just fit into the pinstripes, but he’s thriving with them, embodying the team’s single-minded mission: chase the ring.

While Chisholm’s reliability at the plate is surely worth praise, what has caught the eye is his flexibility to take any position. Notably, the Yankees’ manager, Aaron Boone, was facing challenges to fill up his lineup after DJ LeMahieu’s injury. The solution? Ask Chisholm to play at 2B. But now, LaMahieu is back again at the second. So, ask Chisholm to get back to the hot corner. Well!

I definitely want to help this team win the challenge by making those switches. I’ve really valued team teamwork my whole career you know all I think about is being a team guy and I did it in miami where i moved from second base and went and played center field came over here didn’t play second base played third base and started off the season this year at second base went back to third base again so for me it’s just i want to win you know like i want to help my team win,Chisholm told the reporters.

So, give second base, third base, or any other position and he will deliver. That’s what we call a typical Yankees mentality.

Some would say he is trying to get brownie points rather than contributing in different positions, but Chisholm’s on-field antics suggest otherwise.

The Yankees got him back on Tuesday against the Guardians and after more than a month on the injured list nursing a strained oblique, the flamboyant slugger wasted no time making his presence felt. And in a new position again. Thrust back into action at third base, a position he’s still mastering after last summer’s trade from Miami, Chisholm reminded everyone why he means business.

With DJ LeMahieu settled at second base, Chisholm slid over to the hot corner and picked up right where he left off, with flair. In the seventh inning, the left-handed slugger hit a go-ahead home run at Yankee Stadium, sending the crowd into a frenzy. It was his eighth HR of the season.

Now, you call it a comeback or a statement, Chisholm is defining what it looks like to be a team player!

Does Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s versatility make him the Yankees' most valuable player this season?

The Yankees’ offense needs a pinch of flamboyance

The Yankees’ much-hyped lineup ran into a brick wall over the weekend. It was all visible how they were struggling to generate offense against the Dodgers’ elite pitching.

In the series against the Dodgers, the Yankees’ bats were largely silenced, all except for their captain, Aaron Judge. Judge looked every bit the MVP contender he’s been all season, single-handedly keeping the Yankees competitive. He accounted for nearly all the team’s firepower (3 HRs), launching home runs and grinding out at-bats while the rest of the lineup stayed dry.

If you consider the second game against the Dodgers, the 18-2 scoreline is nothing but haunting for the Bronx. Yes, their pitching lineup was steamrolled, but the offense was only able to put 2 runs on the board. Major gap? Unavailability of Chisholm.

Jorbit Vivas played one game, and Oswald Peraza played two games against the Dodgers at 3B. The result is not a single homer from their end. Now, imagine Chisholm at the hot corner. The dominance he showed yesterday against the Guardians was absolutely absent in the Dodgers series.

Well, let’s be very honest here. As brilliant as Judge is, he can’t carry the Bronx Bombers alone. He needs names like Jazz Chisholm, who can take the challenge and deliver. With Chisholm back at third base now, let’s see how the series against the Guardians goes for the Yankees.
