Tom Brady shook the NFL world once again recently. The 45-year-old has regularly broken records since joining the big leagues in 2000 and set a new bar for quarterbacks. The seven-time Super Bowl champ first announced his retirement from professional football life in 2022. However, he made a brief return to the next season, much to people’s surprise and delight.

But on a recent social media post, Brady announced he was retiring ‘for good.’ The quarterback announced his second and final retirement in an emotional video message and received an outpouring of love. In addition to fans from all over the world, popular personalities from the sports and entertainment field also expressed their love.

Alex Rodriguez congratulates Tom Brady on an outstanding career

After a twenty-three-season career, Tom Brady and football have become synonymous. Just like Alex Rodriguez and baseball go hand in hand, Brady has established himself as a household name. Already a strong contender for the NFL Hall of Fame, and the football world is sad to see him go. Owing to his talent, the quarterback has fans from different sports as well.

On his Instagram post announcing the news, Brady received comments from MLB greats like A-Rod and Derek Jeter. A-Rod simply commented the goat emoji, meaning G.O.A.T., as did Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps. Whereas Jeter said, “Congrats on an unbelievable career. It was fun to watch!!” The center fielder for the LA Angels Mike Trout also had words of respect.

Tennis great Serena Williams, who also retired recently, commented, I’m getting teary eyed watching this. Sad to see you go. Welcome to the retirement world…. Again 😜”

Fellow football champs like J.J. Watts and David Beckham also reacted to the video, with Watts saying, “Greatest of All Time. No question, no debate. While Beckam said, We love you man ❤️ @tombrady“, newer football stars like Pat Mahomes Jr., Neymar Jr., and OBJ also had nothing but respect for the legend. Mahomes just commented the goat emoji and Neymar called him ‘King’, whereas OBJ commented, “Man. Thank u for everything brother.”

The entertainment world also expressed its love for Brady

Terrific Tom has become an innate part of the American culture and it would be remiss to not mention how personalities from outside the sports world reacted to Brady’s second and final retirement.

Australian actor Hugh Jackman commented, “A sensational career. To say the least! Onward. Love HJ” while actress Gwyneth Paltrow said, “And WE LOVE YOU” in response to Brady’s caption. Brady’s ex-wife Gisele Bündchen had nothing but good things to say, “Wishing you only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life. 🙏🏼”
