Francisco Lindor screamed a little bit after he signed his 10-year, $341 million contract with the New York Mets back in 2021. Lindor, who had spent half of his big league career in Cleveland, was also aligned with the Mets’ idea of winning a championship. Well, Lindor is yet to fulfill his World Series dream in Queens, but the Mets’ shortstop has come a long way from being touted as ‘big mistake’ by a rookie owner, Steve Cohen.

Carlos Correa and Corey Seager may have MLB championships under their belts, but when it comes to being just a shortstop, no one is even close to Francisco Lindor in the last five years. But all of this may not have been possible had it not been for that unconditional support from one person in Lindor’s life: his wife, Katia.
Earlier this year, when the regular season started, Lindor credited his wife for his baseball success. “I really do think that most successful people in the world have a partner… I just think most have someone by their side that can keep them true to who they are. Katia has brought that to me,” said Lindor. Fast forward three months, when the Peurteo Rican slugger achieved a major milestone in his big league career, once again, it was Katia, who celebrated Lindor’s milestone with a heartwarming message.

His wife, Katia, shared such a heartfelt message that turned the entire spotlight off the dramatic incident. On Instagram, Katia posted photos of Francisco Lindor being honored for a big milestone—10 years in Major League Baseball, and also his fourth Silver Slugger award.
“Elite athlete, elite dad, elite human. So proud of you! Celebrating your 4th Silver Slugger Award and your incredible 10-year MLB milestone—your dedication and heart continue to inspire us all,” Katia’s caption read. She did nail it. Well, as for Lindor, with three kids at home and a decade-long experience in the big leagues, he is showing up not only for the Mets but also for his family.

Katia and Lindor have both been extremely transparent about their journey and share a lot through their life on social media and a podcast. The photos from the celebration really say a lot about the vibe the couple shares—just smiles, warmth, and a family that’s proud of what the #12 has become. And as for Lindor, his 10-year MLB anniversary was not the only reason he has been in news lately. His recent trip to Boston did not go as expected.

Francisco Lindor, the New York Mets star, has had quite a week. From controversy to celebration, the shortstop has been riding on an emotional rollercoaster. And it all started in Boston!
During the Mets series against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, Lindor found himself at the back of a heated argument. He was on the back foot by Walker Buehler, and chaos simply broke out on the field. Buehler thought that Lindor had leaned into the pitch. Then, one pitch later, Lindor steals the second, and Buehler loses his cool.
The drama only edged out when Buehler came after Mike Estabrook, the home plate umpire’s decision. He was tossed out, and then Alex Cora, the Boston manager, came to rescue his star, only to be tossed away too. And well, finally, Lindor had the last laugh even though the Mets lost the series by 2-1.
