New York Yankees Positioning Of Stanton In Question

During the game on Saturday where the Yankees played the Boston Red Sox, Yankees infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa tried to make a bunt and rush to first base as outfielder Giancarlo Stanton was trying to make it to second base. What was the positioning of power hitter Giancarlo Stanton at first base?

The Red Sox catcher made no delay in addressing the bunt and caught it for the first out. He threw Stanton out on first before he had a chance to make it back to base. The Yankees were already down four runs to the Red Sox while this disastrous bunt attempt unfolded.

In a season of underperformance and injuries, such blunders are the last thing the team needs on the field. Needless to say, Bronx fans once again expressed dismay over this team.

Yankees Fans Faced With Embarrassment Yet Again

The Bronx Bombers have been on a losing streak this season, with significantly more losses than wins. Languishing at the bottom of AL East, it’s one of the worst seasons in franchise history. It’s proof that things are just not working right now in New York. Fans have been more than disappointed.

While the move could have been saved, fans couldn’t help but berate the team some more.

While some may label the move as “stupidity,” it’s okay to consider the reasoning behind such choices. Aaron Boone undoubtedly is aware of the team’s recent performance woes. In this light, it’s possible that this unconventional approach was an attempt to catch opponents off guard.
