The reigning World Series champs will next face the Texas Rangers with their trusty ace by their side. But before that, an ‘expletive-loaded’ victory speech.

Verlander had a tough beginning to the year when he started with the New York Mets after six years in Houston. The trade deadline saw him back with the Astros as they continued to climb up the ranks. The Mets, still struggling, barely finished the regular season. But H-Town is celebrating a seventh-straight trip to the Championship Series. To mark the occasion, their star pitcher’s speech also included seven curse words.

Justin Verlander Drops Record Number of F-Bombs

The Target Field audience may have left disappointed to see the Minnesota Twins lose, but the visitor’s clubhouse was popping bubbly. For the classic victory speech, Astros manager Dusty Baker summoned Justin Verlander, who seemingly refused at first off-camera. But Baker said, “No, no, no. I’m doing the World Series. You do this one.”

As the players laughed, the pitcher came in to give his manager a hug with a laugh and started off, “Alright, sh*t. Boys, this is one of those seasons nothing went our fu*king way early. We battled through injuries. We fu*king grinded.”

Referring to his time in New York, Verlander joked, “I wasn’t even fu*cking here. I’m happy to be back. The seventh fu*cking time. Seventh fu*cking time. Alright, don’t take that for granted. On seven, everybody pop these motherfu*kers.”

As his teammates laughed, they covered each other in champagne, joyous in their victory. It was a speech for the ages, which Verlander’s brother Ben posted to X, formerly Twitter, hilariously captioning it “all-time legendary”. Even if it was NSFW, the words will go down in history as one of the most iconic addresses.

Host Kevin Burkhardt tried a half-hearted apology, but it was clear he too was enjoying the moment. Instead, David Ortiz, a Boston Red Sox legend, made a hilarious offer. “I’ll pay the fine, Kevin,” the Hall of Famer said.
