In MLB, Alex Rodriguez, or A-Rod as he’s affectionately known, is celebrated for his legacy on the field. Yet, for him, real victories happen off the diamond, within the walls of his home, where family takes center stage. Rodriguez, a doting father to Natasha, 18, and Ella, 15, from his previous marriage to Cynthia Scurtis, has created a bond that’s as solid as any championship win.

As a father, the 48-year-old has set up some guidelines that the family as a whole needs to abide by. Their routine includes a cherished nightly ritual, a family dinner free from screens, where genuine conversation takes precedence. No phones, no iPads. It’s an opportunity for some good, old-school face-to-face time. Well, this is not the only rule the 3X MVP has for his girls.

As sensitive of a subject as dating may be, it isn’t a taboo in the Rodriguez household. The girls, Natasha and Ella, demonstrate remarkable maturity and openness about it. This serves as a testament to the environment their father has nurtured. He articulated with pride, “They’re very solid. They’re very, very open.” As a father, he recognizes the importance of age-appropriate discussions. Yet, with dating comes rules, and Rodriguez doesn’t hesitate to enforce them. A “strict curfew” ensures that his daughters’ safety and well-being are a top priority. It’s undoubted that he’s no regular father.

He recalls a few times, he made some unconventional moves and giggled at the awkward spot he put his daughters in. With that, he chuckles as he recounts a few surprise visits to the door, a move that has earned him more than a few raised eyebrows from his girls. In addition to that the 2009 World Series champion has introduced another family ritual to keep his folks tightly knit. 

Every Saturday morning, the trio convenes for their “breakfast club” where for 90 minutes, they share the highs and lows of their respective weeks. He builds trust by keeping what’s discussed in the club within its walls. Rodriguez beams with pride at the outcome of these gatherings. Given that the open, candid dialogue that now characterizes their relationship is, for him, the “greatest payoff“.

A-Rod Takes One Step Ahead When It Comes To Health

Apart from doing great things to be a good father, he is taking every step possible to maintain a balanced health. Keeping aside making changes in his eating habits like eliminating steak and taking walks post-dinner, he is prioritizing dental health. With that, he shares his knowledge of hygiene and well-being.
