The claim: Donald Trump has announced he won’t invite either World Series team to the White House.

Let’s say this claim was more than enough to spark an uproar on X. This claim in Donald Trump’s name raced across the internet over the weekend. It’s popping up on Threads, X, Bluesky, Instagram, and Facebook. The kicker is that Trump never wrote it in the first place.

This claim started bouncing around social media, along with a pair of fake screenshots purporting to show Donald Trump posting on his own platform.

The first screenshot showed Donald Trump supposedly saying he won’t invite the World Series champs to the White House for the traditional celebration.

The fake post read, “No matter who wins, I will refuse to invite either baseball team to my ballroom, as they are both run by highly inept officials from California and Ontario, Canada,” the fake post read. “I don’t host losers. We are actively investigating MLB. This World Series is rigged, probably by the Dems & the Mafia.”

Even Stephen King jumped in and brutally blasted Trump’s remarks.

“Trump says he won’t invite either team playing in the World Series to the White House,’ he wrote. “He can’t rise above his petty political concerns even for the great American game. If anything shows what a louse he is, that’s it.”

Daughter of Frank Sinatra—Nancy, who has never been shy about calling out Trump—also weighed in after seeing this viral claim.  “Paranoia has set in. I hope his ballroom collapses.”

The White House also released an official message about the World Series on Saturday, praising both teams as exceptional and deserving of their spot thanks to talent and determination. “They remind us why baseball brings friends and neighbors together. Melania and I send our best wishes to the players, coaches, and fans for a fun and safe series. May the best team win, and may God bless our national pastime and the United States of America.” The statement read.

It was only recently that Donald Trump spoke at a White House event honoring college baseball champions. That day, he stated, “I’m so busy, I don’t get to watch baseball too much. I did watch it the other night, however. I turned it on, and there happened to be a Japanese player who is not bad.” This comment drew plenty of attention.

Trump believes Ohtani is “one of the best pitchers I’ve ever seen and one of the best hitters I’ve ever seen, and that all makes for a nice contract.” In fact, he had also applauded Ohtani earlier this year in April when the Dodgers paid a courtesy visit to the White House after winning the 2024 World Series.

The second post even accused the Blue Jays of being “Un-American” and suggested their playoff run should be investigated. Those screenshots have now been confirmed as completely made up.

It read, “WE WILL BE INVESTIGATING THE UN-AMERICAN BLUE JAYS WHO ARE ATTEMPTING TO STEAL OUR BELOVED WORLD SERIES,” the fake tweet reads. “THEY WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE INVITED TO THE WHITE HOUSE.”

Plenty of red flags give away the fake Trump post, but the mention of a ballroom has to be the most obvious tell of all.

This isn’t the first time this has happened. After their 2025 Super Bowl win, the Philadelphia Eagles were falsely reported to have refused Trump’s White House invite, though Snopes and PolitiFact confirmed no invitation was ever sent.

Similarly, when the Los Angeles Dodgers visited after their 2024 World Series win, FirstSportz noted that even a routine celebration drew political debate.

Our Rating: False

Donald Trump never said any of this. The posts only went viral because, with all the current tension, people found them a little too easy to believe.
