A single viral post on X has Dodgers fans in a frenzy over a rumored romance between star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter. The rumor originally started back in early 2025, but it recently resurfaced and took social media by storm once again.

The new post confirming that the two are reportedly dating garnered around 600 comments and more than 8 million views on X. When a post gets that much traction, it naturally grabs people’s attention. But it is always better to take something on social media with a grain of salt.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Sabrina Carpenter are reportedly dating,” the post by a user named geo reads.

While all posts average around a few thousand views and engagements, the post with Yamamoto’s dating with Carpenter went beyond millions!

If you haven’t guessed by now, the user made the entire thing up just to go viral. It’s a fabricated story made around Yamamoto and Carpenter, and there’s no truth behind it. The post has done its job. It went viral, and even the user is impressed.

“Dinners on me, oomfs we making it out the dodgertwt hood,” it posted recently.

Surely, a post going above 7.5 million views deserves a celebratory dinner. The same X user had another post regarding Shohei Ohtani 12 hours ago.

“Shohei Ohtani is rumored to be dropping a new album in 2026,” the post read. Believable? If not, then the same applies to the Yoshinobu Yamamoto story.

Last year, as part of her “Short n’ Sweet Tour,” Sabrina Carpenter visited Los Angeles for a concert, and she was seen donning a Dodgers jersey in the event. Aside from that outfit choice, there is absolutely zero evidence linking her to Yamamoto or the team.

On the other hand, Yamamoto was rumored to be dating Japanese model and Reality TV star Niki Nawa. During the 2024 offseason, they were spotted by TikToker Jack Banana shopping on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Even though Yamamoto and Niwa never said they were dating, that rumor is much more believable than the fake Sabrina Carpenter story.

Whether he is dating Niwa or is completely single, one thing is for sure. Based on the engagement on the fabricated post, the day Yamamoto actually announces he has a girlfriend, fans will go crazy.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s love for his pets is official

When you are a two-time World Series champion, especially one who pitched crucial innings to help the Dodgers win Game 7 in 2025, fans naturally want to know every detail about your life off the field.

So, while Yamamoto is yet to make his relationship official, he is more than happy to show off his two lucky dogs, Mikan and Carlos. Last year, he introduced Carlos to the fans via Instagram.

“He’s gentle and loves a slow life,” Yamamoto wrote in his post. “He loves naps, walks, and eating good food.” And the best part was that Carlos was a rescue dog whom Yamamoto adopted.

Mikan was there with Yamamoto before Carlos. Now, both dogs have teamed up with Shohei Ohtani’s famous pup, Decoy, to become the ultimate Dodgers fan-favorite pets.

Last July, during a Dodgers road trip, Mikan was credited for thwarting a burglary attempt in Yamamoto’s Hollywood Hills home. Reportedly, the dog’s loud barking alerted the staff, and trespassers never entered the residence. Since then, we have seen Mikan and Carlos always accompanying Yamamoto.

As for a human partner joining the pack, fans will just have to keep waiting.
