Looks like the 2025 World Series between the Blue Jays and the Dodgers has turned into more than just a baseball showdown. What started as a clash on the field and even between Drake and Kendrick Lamar now seems to be spilling into global politics. Notably, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney recently stirred things up with a bold line… “We’re coming down for the World Series, Mr. President.”

That was aimed straight at U.S. President Donald Trump. And apparently, Carney isn’t backing down anytime soon, as he’s already followed up with another round of jabs at Trump.

So, when the leaders of two countries start sparring over a baseball championship, you can’t help but think that maybe it really does live up to its name: the World Series!!!

“I think he’s afraid to make a bet. He doesn’t like to lose. He hasn’t called, he hasn’t returned my call yet on the bet, so I’m ready,” Carney said on Thursday as he stopped by the Blue Jays’ practice in the Rogers Stadium.

Well, Carney has thrown down the gauntlet… He’s challenged U.S. President Donald Trump to a friendly bet on the World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers. And with much confidence, Carney’s calling it now: the Jays will take the best-of-seven series in six games!

We’re not diving into politics here, but it’s no secret that tensions between Canada and the U.S. have been running high lately over tariffs. So, this World Series matchup is turning into more than just a baseball rivalry.

And it’s giving both leaders a chance to trade some lighthearted jabs.

But what stands out is Carney’s confidence. And why not? Much before, Carney was confident that the Blue Jays would secure the World Series, and here they are. Now, this time, he’s so sure about Toronto’s chances that he’s openly inviting Trump to put something on the line. Trump hasn’t responded yet, but if he does, that might crank up the competitive spirit even more.

Now, at this point, it feels like the World Series isn’t just Toronto vs. Los Angeles… It’s shaping up to be Canada vs. the U.S., and honestly, we’re all here for it. It’d be even better if both leaders showed up to catch a game together at Rogers Center. Ahh, are we exaggerating? That’s the World Series, folks!!!

Blue Jays’ fans are also facing the heat of the World Series

Would you believe it if we said you’d pay less to grab a quick Porter flight to L.A. and watch the Blue Jays in the World Series there than to see them at home in Toronto? While it may sound wild, it is what it is…

The morning after the Jays pulled off that nail-biting Game 7 win, tickets for the World Series went on sale. As you might expect, they were completely gone within 30 minutes. Thousands of fans were left staring at loading screens, hoping their turn would come, but for most, it never did.

And then came the resale madness. Within hours, verified resale tickets were going for up to $3,000, with premium seats skyrocketing to nearly $9,000. Just like that, the buzz of victory turned into frustration for fans.

So, could we see a return of that old cap on resale prices, where tickets couldn’t go for more than 50% above face value? Maybe. But for now, it’s clear the only ones really paying for this World Series hype are the fans themselves. So again, it’s on the Blue Jays to offer a game that could not only bring the ring back to Toronto but also pay back the fans’ hype.
