It’s never a dull day in the MLB, and last Tuesday’s Mets vs Red Sox clash proved just that: drama, ejections, and plenty of heat. Francisco Lindor may have stayed on the field, but the spotlight and controversy still found him. Fast forward a few days, and as he celebrates a major milestone in his career, and it’s his wife Katia who steals the show with a perfectly timed and hilarious moment.

Nobody would have forgotten how Tuesday’s game unfolded, it was way too dramatic to miss. The Red Sox’s $21 million starter, Walker Buehler, and Manager Alex Cora got ejected from the game after arguing a ball-strike call in the third inning. Buehler then turned to social media to express his displeasure with Lindor, who had urged the umpire to toss them. Well, let’s just say they go way back to 2024. But it seems there’s no lingering drama after all, just the heat of the game talking. Days after, this weekend, Lindor is completing his 10 years in MLB, and Katia Lindor, his wife, took to Instagram with a hilarious story.

SNY TV had shared a series of images of Lindor on Instagram, from when he was in Cleveland to his time with the Mets, ten photos for ten years. Katia shared this post on her story, with his most recent photo and wrote, “Looks the same 10 years later lol.” Well, she is not wrong; he pretty much looks the same as he did back in 2015, but his list of achievements is definitely not the same.  Katia sure knows how to take the steam off the star, and she has been with him with unconditional support, be it in games or in life. This is not the first time she has complimented him this week.

Katia had earlier shared a heartfelt message when she posted photos of Lindor being honored for the big milestone, 10 years in MLB, and also his fourth Silver Slugger award. She captioned it, “Elite athlete, elite dad, elite human. So proud of you! Celebrating your 4th Silver Slugger Award and your incredible 10-year MLB milestone — your dedication and heart continue to inspire us all.” When things get heated on the field, having someone to hold their hand through it all is all any player ever asks for.

Katia has been very vocal about their relationship from the very start. She has been with him through thick and thin and doesn’t waste any chance to express the love and support she has for him. It’s not just his wife; this Mets’ $341 million All-Star also has an entire cheer team supporting him back home. And that’s exactly what Katia wanted to remind him of when she surprised him with a funny question.

Katia surprises Lindor with an unexpected question

On Sunday, the Mets beat the Dodgers 3-1 in the series finale, securing the series win by taking two out of three games. And on the same day, while the game was underway, Sunday Night Baseball interviewed Lindor. But what he didn’t see coming was a surprise question—from none other than his beloved partner. Katia definitely caught him off guard with that one!

He was playing defense when the broadcasters announced there was a special guest who wanted to ask him a question, and Katia didn’t waste much time. “What is more difficult, playing double defense or changing diapers at 4 a.m.?” The question burst out a laughter from Lindor. Lindor went with the second one, yes, for a dad of three, what answer else do you expect? “I’ve been playing double-play defense for 25 years, and I’ve been changing diapers for four and a half years,” he said.

The amazing couple are parents to three: Kalina, Amapola Chloé, and most recently, Koa. Lindor was able to achieve all these because his partner was taking care of his family, even when games got a little tough for him. And Lindor knows this. After all, they are the biggest source of energy packs for him. Be it the controversy or the celebration, it was an emotional week for him, and through it all, having his back was his wife, Katia.
