With 22 Defensive Runs Saved in the 2024 season, Brice Turang became the first Milwaukee Brewers 2B to win the Gold Glove. In fact, his highlight reels just kept getting longer that season with daily sensational plays, landing him the Platinum Glove for the NL (the first Brewers player). But he picked the worst possible moment for his glove to fail him, and fans are letting him hear about it.
Brice Turang made an error in the Team USA vs Mexico game, putting Mexico’s first runner on base. Right after, USA fans wondered if the game would turn around for Mexico; some even put up X posts with explicits.

“Turang can f–k himself!!!” wrote one fan on X, while another echoed the same frustration.
“F–k do I hate Bryce Turang. F–k that guy.”
In the 5-3 WBC win over Mexico, the sixth inning didn’t feel right!
Turang couldn’t field the chopper off of Joey Meneses, as he hit an RBI single, scoring Jonathan Aranda to cut Mexico’s deficit to 5-2. The ‘indecision’ from #13 was visible in his disappointed reaction. In fact, it was not his only error in the game.
Paul Skenes wanted to finish the third inning off perfectly, but Turang’s throwing error made Joey Ortiz Mexico’s first baserunner of the night, extending the inning. But Captain America saved that inning.
Aaron Judge then made a perfect throw to get the runner at third and stop the rally.
But even after all that, Brice Turang, himself, fixed his error at the top of the 9th inning.
He made a sharp stop to the ground ball pitched by Garrett Whitlock and threw it to Bryce Harper at first base to secure their first win over Mexico in 20 years.
It was unlike what happened in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.
Turang can fuck himself!!!

Boston Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner made an error in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Playing with bad ankles, he missed a Mookie Wilson ground ball as it rolled through his legs. This allowed Ray Knight to score the winning run from second base. The Red Sox had already blown a two-run lead in the 10th inning due to wild pitches and hits, but the error became the defining moment.
The New York Mets enjoyed a 6-5 victory and forced a decisive Game 7. And ultimately, NYM won the ring.
But Turang has so far been a key figure in this WBC, playing every game and producing on both sides of the ball, including going 3‑for‑6 with four RBIs in the opener against Brazil. That performance helped the USA to a big 15-5 win and showed how valuable he can be in big moments.
In 2025, he continued to be a key contributor, hitting .288 with power and helping his team in multiple ways. He transformed into a premier all-around player and even earned team MVP honors.
Turang more than doubled his home run count from 7 in 2024 to 18 in 2025. Much of his offensive production came after the All-Star break, where he hit .308/.380/.536 with 12 of his 18 homers.
He became the first Brewers player since 2021 to bat in all nine spots in the order, showcasing his adaptability, including 67 games in the leadoff spot.
But baseball fans are not forgetting the WBC error anytime soon.
USA fans are unhappy with Brice Turang after an error in the WBC
One fan even demanded “Get Turang out of the lineup” after his WBC error. But Turang was one of the Brewers’ most trusted everyday players, recording 28 doubles in 2025 while anchoring the defense for Milwaukee. He also brought that big‑league experience to Team USA’s roster, where his presence helped balance the infield even if a single miscue stood out in a close 5‑3 game.
But fans don’t seem convinced, as one wrote, “Yep, anyone saying Turang over Gunnar is absolutely delusional.” Gunnar Henderson has been a strong regular with the Orioles, posting a .274 average and contributing 17 homers in 2025, showing offensive upside. But Turang recorded 81 RBIs in 2025 for the Brewers, proving he can help the team at the plate as well as in the field.
A fan fired off with “Imagine selecting Brice Turang over Nico Hoerner at 2nd base.” Hoerner earned a Gold Glove at second base in 2025, finishing with +14 Outs Above Average and 17 Defensive Runs Saved, showing elite range and sure hands. Turang’s defensive numbers last season were more modest, with 7 Defensive Runs Saved and negative OAA.
Another post read, “Turang should have just let Bobby Baseball have it.” This implied that he should have trusted shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. to field the ball cleanly. Witt Jr., known for his strong glove and quick reactions, likely would have turned the play into an out without Turang risking the misplay. We saw a glimpse of it in the same game itself.
In the top of the 4th inning, he cracked a diving stop with precise calculation on a grounder hit by Alejandro Kirk. He then fired a one-hop throw from his knees across the diamond. Team USA first baseman Bryce Harper stretched out and corralled the ball, recording a crucial out that drew roars from the crowd.
Then, one fan posted, “Put Goldschmidt in.” Paul Goldschmidt has consistently shown reliable fielding at first base with above-average range and strong, accurate throws. He frequently makes plays 30+ feet away from the bag that other first basemen cannot reach.
Despite fan cries to bench Turang for Henderson, Hoerner, or Goldschmidt, his experience remains invaluable for Team USA. That was even seen in this game, itself.
