“Most analysts believe he will get somewhere between $500 million and $650 million based on the recent contracts of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with the Blue Jays ($500 million) and Juan Soto with the Mets ($765 million),” MLB insider Jim Bowden predicted about the Cubs’ Kyle Tucker once he hits free agency after this season. On the other hand, Steve Adams at MLB Trade Rumors floated a ballpark idea for Alex Bregman’s upcoming free agency. He suggested that Bregman could land somewhere in the range of $150 million and $200 million.

So, while both Bregman and Tucker are projected to fetch a good sum from the upcoming free agency, who are the suitors behind them?

Reportedly, MLB’s Mark Feinsand recently mentioned the Phillies as a possible destination for Kyle Tucker. If you remember, Tucker was already projected to land a massive $490 million deal. And guess what, the Phillies make sense as a fit, as they have the resources to pull off another huge contract.

Feinsand also pointed out that Bregman could be a fit in Philadelphia, especially if Alec Bohm continues to be just average at the plate. Ultimately, it might come down to what Bregman values most. If he wants to keep competing for championships like he did in Houston, the Phillies can offer that. And if he’s chasing top dollar, Dombrowski and the front office could deliver there, too.

Hence, if the rumors are true, the Phillies are betting on somewhere $850 million in the upcoming offseason.

The Phillies are heading into an offseason where both J.T. Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber will hit free agency. And it looks like Schwarber might be the bigger priority. Why? Because on paper, Philadelphia makes a lot of sense for Kyle Tucker since they’re always in win-now mode and have the payroll flexibility to make a splash. But the catch?
