The Rogers Centre was explosive on Monday night. Not only did the Blue Jays beat the Yankees 4–1, but there was also drama between fans and the security. Before the opening pitch, a fan’s passionate sign caused a bit of a stir as Toronto soared on the mound.
23-year-old Alex Di Domizio proudly waved a flag with a big “Yankees S—“ slogan as he walked into Rogers Centre. The message was skillfully sandwiched around a big Blue Jays emblem in the middle. It was the right mix of team pride, rivalry, and personal creativity. But, after ten minutes in the stands, the security gently took Alex to guest services, where they held the flag until the game ended.
Soon, the words spread. And then an apology from the Blue Jays arrived. As reported in Daily Hive, one of their spokespersons shared through Offside, “After reviewing the situation, we made a mistake, and we have addressed the issue to ensure it does not happen again.” Well, Domizio wasn’t upset; he later explained what happened, BTS.

Di Domizio recalled, “They kept saying ‘Yankees S—‘ was the problem. They didn’t say anything about the Jays logo in the middle … I wasn’t swearing on it or anything … I didn’t really think there was going to be a problem with it.”

Even if there was a little drama, Alex’s love for the Blue Jays is unbreakable. He’ll be back at Rogers Centre on Wednesday to cheer for Toronto in the last game of the series against New York. He quipped, “I’m going again on Wednesday … but I’m probably not going to bring the flag this time, because I don’t want that to happen again. I hope I’m not blacklisted.” A tiny checkpoint won’t stop him from cheering for his team.
Well, Toronto cares about its fans, too. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. didn’t hesitate when asked what gives the Blue Jays such a home-field advantage. He said, “The fans… Do you not feel the love they have?” And now, the Blue Jays want to give their fans the World Series ring. As Vladdy mentioned, “We’re doing everything we can to bring the World Series back to Toronto.”
And tbh, lately, they’re playing great. As of July 21, the Blue Jays had the best record in MLB since June 1, going 29–13, including 16–4 at home. And so far, that’s continuing in their second half, too…

Pitching has also been the team’s strength, with Chris Bassitt and Eric Lauer each delivering six solid innings, and Jose Berrios performing well against the Giants. Toronto is playing smart baseball, dominating games and building momentum for October.

Offensively, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is hitting .279 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs in the second half, while Bo Bichette has a .292 average and impressive exit velocities.
This team is getting energy from more than just box scores. Bo Bichette said it best: “This is what I remember watching on TV when I was 17 years old at home, with Bautista and Donaldson.” He called this the best Jays fanbase he’s ever seen. That energy is keeping the clubhouse going and making performances better every night.
