The Caitlin Clark fever has reached the LPGA Tour, and it’s all for the improvement of the women’s sport. The WNBA Rookie of the Year is packed with talent, and as much as she is a basketball prodigy, Caitlin Clark also loves golf. It would not be wrong to say that if not for basketball, the 22-year-old probably would have teed up at the LPGA Tour or even become a professional golfer. And this week, she is doing that exactly.

Clark is sponsored by Gainbridge, which is also behind The ANNIKA Driven, an annual event on the LPGA Tour. So, it made sense that when the 22-year-old athlete promised to make an appearance at The Women’s Leadership Summit on November 12, she also promised to tee up at Pelican Golf Club. The Pro-Am is scheduled on Wednesday, November 13, and will start at 7:00 a.m. ET.
By chance, Clark will be in the first group and starting at 7, with Nelly Korda on the front nine. She had expressed the excitement for the event and said, “I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range.” Courtesy of Clark’s popularity and how much her fans wanted to see her play golf, the Golf Channel, which will broadcast Pro-Am, has also prepared extra TV time for the basketball player. Aside from her Pro-Am round, warm-up on the range and walk and talk between the rounds will also be live-streamed on the Golf Today studio show from 11:00 a.m. onwards ET.

The amateur will be Caitlin Clark and the professionals will be two of the best golfers on the LPGA Tour. One is the 72-time LPGA Tour winner and legendary Annika Sorenstam, after whom the event is named, and the other is Nelly Korda. Talking about sharing the stage with Sorenstam, Clark said, “I love golf, so the opportunity to play in the pro-am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting.”
If you want to watch more of Sorenstam and Clark, you can tune in to the Women’s Leadership Summit on November 11th. It will start at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m. ET. Clark and Sorenstam will join the live stream on NBCSports.com at around 12:45 p.m. and share their journey to becoming a self-made star in their respective sports.
