The Internet has been missing Dustin Johnson and his words of wisdom. Netizens are also missing the 24-time PGA Tour pro’s drowsy gaze across the room. While the Florida native is probably mulling over his next season’s team after the LIV Miami loss, his fans turned their gaze to Los Angeles in search of his ‘doppelganger’.

But it’s not just anybody. Apparently, an NFL star shares the same low-pitched baritone voice as the 39-year-old golfer. Recently, a short clip went viral on social media that prompted a veteran sports author and host to compare the Los Angeles Chargers defender to the bleary-eyed golfer.

Does the NFL Pro sound like Dustin Johnson?

Jason Sobel of Action Network posted a clip on Twitter. It was Joey Bosa speaking to a reporter after their NFL game against the New York Jets. Bosa, in his characteristically resounding voice, spoke about the game and what the win meant for them, barely raising his eyes from the ground all the while.

Sobel, while sharing the video, wrote, “Close your eyes and tell me this is not Dustin Johnson’s voice. Uncanny.” So does it sound like Dustin Johnson? In short, no. Sorry to disappoint, but we did close our eyes and tried very hard to imagine the veteran golfer speaking so fast. Didn’t happen.

But in Sobel’s defense, he picked the wrong clip. Bosa, unlike his press conferences, threw words at the speed of an F-22 Raptor. Much like Dustin Johnson, who would make you believe he is conjuring each word from thin air before uttering them, Bosa too speaks in a deep voice with frequent pauses between every two to three words generally. That was not the case here; check for yourself.

We don’t know if Johnson has any idea of this or not. As much as we or anyone else would like to draw his attention to this for a possible final verdict, that former PGA Tour pro is probably mulling over a possible team change soon.

After fourteen LIV outings across different parts of the globe, the 2020 Masters winner is back home. The tail-end of the season didn’t go as planned for the 39-year-old American pro. Despite starting with a bang, in the penultimate event, Brooks Koepka usurped him at the third position on the season-long leaderboard.

His team defended their season-long title this season as well. However, ahead of the next season, there are rumors that the LIV Golf pro might make some changes to the roaster. The 2024 Promotions Tournament, which brings new faces into the fledgling league, will give him a chance to bring some new blood and energy to the team. But that’s still a month away.

In the meantime, his fans would be happy to check some Joey Bosa press conferences on YouTube. You won’t be entirely disappointed.
