Paige Spiranac is an extremely famous personality in the golfing world. She is a retired professional golfer who is now a social media personality and business women. She always discusses hot topics related to the golfing word on her podcast, Playing A Round. In the recent episode of the podcast, she was seen discussing the first major event of the LPGA for this season with her guest Sam, who happens to be a fellow golfer.

Paige Spiranac loves The Mission Hills more 

LPGA Tour bid farewell to The Mission Hills last year. The first major of the season was organized there for the last time in 2022. Many golfers expressed their sadness over the switch to the golf course. In 2023, the first major event of the season was played at The Club at Carlton Woods.

The 18th Green is encompassed by a body of water known as Poppie’s Pond, which was named after the tournament director, Terry Wilcox. Wilcox, who retired in 2008, is affectionately referred to as ‘Poppie’ by his grandchildren. Jumping into Poppie’s Pond is one of the most iconic traditions of The Mission Hills. “There’s just something special about that place and obviously jumping into Poppie’s pond,” said Spiranac recalling the iconic tradition. 

Spiranac then continued to say this change had been hard on her. “I’m not good with change, but this one has been hard on me.”

Winners of the Chevron Championship have been taking a plunge into the water after winning for years. This was earlier done in the Poppie’s pond, but this year the question  was how?

To everyone’s surprise, Lilia Vu opted out of conventional ways to celebrate and took a plunge in the pool by the 18th, thus, keeping the tradition alive.
