Patrick Reed has not been chosen for the Ryder Cup team by Keegan Bradley. There were a few who called for him to be picked after he won LIV Golf Dallas 2025. However, there were many more reasons why he had not earned a spot in Team U.S. for their trip to Bethpage. Fans also shared the same opinion, thinking the idea of Reed making the team was preposterous. The negative reaction might have left a bitter taste in the LIV Golf pro’s mouth. And he may have reacted to it.

According to the latest reports from GolfWRX, Patrick Reed has vowed not to watch the 2025 Ryder Cup at all. Explaining why he won’t be catching his fellow Americans pros in action, he said, “I’ll definitely be rooting for the boys. But it’s one of those things that I don’t watch golf when I’m at home.” Being a professional golfer, one wouldn’t expect that Reed would not be watching golf when he’s at home. Then again, he might also want to keep his professional life separate from his home life.

In fact, that’s what the 4Aces GC player confessed, “Because I play so much. Because I’m always out practising and grinding. If I start watching golf, I start turning the mindset on to analyse and to do all that.” It’s fairly understandable why he wouldn’t want to take golf back home as well after grinding it out all day on the course. Other than his commitments with LIV Golf, Reed also participates in the DP World Tour every opportunity he gets. That makes his schedule quite hectic. He recently featured in the 2025 Amgen Irish Open, where he finished T50.

However, when it comes to snub, his stats also tell a compelling story. Though Reed is a three-time Ryder Cup veteran with an impressive 7–3–2 record across 2016, 2018, and 2021 appearances, including an unbeaten run in singles, his 2025 form failed to keep pace. He now ranks 36th in the U.S. Ryder Cup points standings—dominated by performances in the majors—despite a standout third-place finish at the Masters, a T23 at the U.S. Open, and a missed cut at the PGA Championship. Reed’s 2025 performance can best be described as a mixed bag. Interestingly, his 2025 Masters finish was the best finish he had had in majors since his 2018 Masters victory.

This performance history can raise allegations by fans that may point to LIV for his decline. Similar to how Brooks Kopeka has been facing in recent times.

Having said that, where will Patrick Reed be busy this week while Team U.S. takes a trip to Napa Valley? Let’s look at his commitments that keep him away from home.

Patrick Reed is a busy man these days

Ever since the 2025 LIV Golf season ended, Patrick Reed has been quite busy one way or another. His first goal was to convince Keegan Bradley to pick him for the Team U.S. squad. As he confessed, “I was hoping. I knew it was going to be an outside shot just because of not being able to get points and things like that, just being on LIV. But honestly, I felt like the games been really good until this week.” Unfortunately, that didn’t work in his favor as Bradley made some shocking choices, including not picking himself.

The Reed’s focus shifted to the Irish Open. Sadly, that didn’t go too well as he witnessed Rory McIlroy grab an emotional win at The K Club a few hours ago. Now, as most of Team U.S. plays the Procore Championship, Patrick Reed will be at Wentworth alongside Brooks Koepka, participating in the BMW PGA Championship. Fellow LIV Golf pros, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, will also be a part of the event. However, their goal would be to align with their fellow Team Europe squad members.
