She wrote in the caption of her post, “An eventful week so far, but I’m happy to say my clubs have arrived. Ready to go again for the @kpmgwomenspga. Round 1: 8:22 am PT, 4:22 BST.” Charley Hull will be teeing off from hole 10, along with Leona Maguire and Ayaka Furue. Her group is scheduled to go after  Nelly Korda’s group, which includes the defending champion of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Ruoning Yin.

Although the golfer has gotten her equipment back, there are other concerning aspects that Hull is dealing with in her performance. Her start at the third major of the season will mark her ninth start of the year, and she will be looking forward to doing better than she has been doing so far and indeed than how she performed at the major last year!

How is Charley Hull faring lately on the greens?

The world no. 8 female golfer has been in the top 10 only twice this season. The first time was at her very first event of the year at the Lake Nona Golf Course. In the HGV Tournament of Champions, she finished at T7 after carding 7 under. The second and last time she finished among the top 10 was at the Dio Implant LA Open at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. She withdrew from the Ford Championship presented by KCC after the first round, and luckily, she has not failed to make any cut so far.

In the last two major championships, she did not portray a remarkable performance as she often shows. In the Chevron championship, she scored 1 under par and finished in 23rd place. At the US Women’s Open in Lancaster, she finished T19 with 6 over par. Lancaster was a tough show, and even the world’s #1 golfer failed to make it to the weekend.

Yet on the greens of Baltusrol Lower Course for the 2023 KPMG PGA Championship, Hull displayed a disheartening performance as she did not play the weekend. She shot 13 over last year, and her poor performance on the grand stage might still be haunting her. However, in her very next major at the 2023 US Women’s Open, Charley Hull took the runner-up position, overcoming her shortcomings from the previous competition.
