The weather might have troubled the first round at the Paris Olympics, but it certainly has not stirred fan expectations! After his stellar performance at the Open Championship, Xander Schauffele again fared well in the Olympics Round 1. Even if you wish to ponder over the first round a little longer, the Paris Olympics are not going to give you much time because the pairings for Round 2 have already been announced.

With 60 players in the field and the usual three-man groups, the tee-timings are wrapping up in a little over three and a half hours. However, any golf enthusiast who wishes to catch the event unfolding live must set their clock right at 3:00 a.m. Down below is a brief table for your easy navigation through the times and pairings.
McIlroy tees up in the last hour?
While Xander Schauffele will be seen teeing up early on, at 3:55 a.m., Rory McIlroy will have to shift to a later hour this time around. He will be starting his round along with his group, Scottie Scheffler and Swedish professional golfer Ludvig Åberg, at 6:06 a.m.

The second round will again begin at 9 a.m. Paris time, which is 6 hours ahead of US time. It will open with Yuan Yechun, the PGA Tour Chinese professional golfer who took part in the Tokyo Olympics. With him, Colombian golfer Camilo Villegas, who had come close to winning a major in 2008, finished T4 in the PGA Championship. The other member of the group, Matteo Manassero, is an Italian golfer with five European Tour wins.

High-end pairings to look out for
Yes, Xander Schauffele USA, the Norwegian Viktor Hovland, the Spanish LIV Golfer, and two-time Major Champion Jon Rahm are all in the same group. Apart from Hovland, both Xander Schauffele and Rahm were in the top 10 of round 1. While Rahm recorded a 4-under and a T6 finish, the 2024 PGA Championship and the 2024 Open Championship winner, Schauffele, is ranking 2nd after scoring -6, two shots behind Hideki Matsuyama. This group will be teeing up at 3:55 a.m., and you must watch their progression as the promises from them are quite high.

While 30-year-old Wyndham Clark is the winner of the 2023 US Open.
Last but definitely not least, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Swedish golfer Ludvig Åberg are paired together. They will be teeing up quite at 6:06 a.m. and are likely to be the other star-studded group. Scheffler has won six events this season, including one major. Besides being the World No. 1, he is also the most talked-about golfer of the season. McIlroy needs no introduction; his golf legacy is long and firm, with 40 professional wins, including four majors! Ludvig Åberg, however, is a rising star. He might have turned professional only last year, but at present, he is the world no. 4 and has been the runner-up of the 2024 Master’s Tournament.
