“I don’t intend to pay the fines, and we keep trying to have a discussion with them about how we can make this happen,” Jon Rahm said back in 2024. Despite earning millions from LIV Golf, he was adamant about not paying the DP World Tour to retain his membership. And now, as things stand, we have seen the last of the Spaniard in Europe this season. Rahm confirmed that he won’t be playing another event before LIV Golf Riyadh 2026. Two weeks from now, another LIV Golf pro will follow the same suit.

Speaking to Bunkered, Adrian Meronk said, “My membership ends basically in two weeks this year, so I’m not going to resign. I guess I’m only going to play off invites if I get any. It’s a bit strange, to be honest. It’s a weird feeling. I just have to kind of accept it. I knew when I was signing with LIV what consequences it might come with. I’m okay with that, but I just think it would be better for everyone if everyone came to peace and worked together. I think it would benefit everyone, especially me.”

Unlike Rahm, the Polish pro hasn’t been consistent enough in Europe. While neither individual has won a DP World Tour title in a while, the two-time major winner has still managed to secure high-ranked finishes in European events. That has helped him secure his membership despite refusing to pay the fines for so long. Meronk, meanwhile, has an interesting schedule ahead, including a trip to Hong Kong.  In his case, he hasn’t been performing at a high capacity to attract the European Tour’s attention.

Having said that, unlike Jon Rahm, Adrian Meronk still has two weeks left on his DP World Tour membership. While he may not be competing for a status in Europe, could he still leave the Tour on a high note to attract possible interest?

Can Adrian Meronk prove himself to be a promising prospect?

Let’s make one thing clear: Adrian Meronk is not competing for the Race To Dubai Championship this season. He’s not even in the list as a contender. So anything he does over the next couple of weeks shouldn’t have any effect on his opportunity to outrank Rory McIlroy on the leaderboard. But will he still be able to compete against the Irishman in the season-ending tournaments?

McIlroy & Co. will be playing in the DP World Tour playoffs over the next couple of weeks. It will feature the top golfers on the European Tour going head-to-head in limited field events. However, Meronk didn’t rank high enough on the season’s leaderboard. This means that he won’t get the opportunity to compete in the tournament. Hence, even though he still has two weeks left in his membership, Adrian Meronk won’t be able to utilize that to play in any DP World Tour events. Instead, he is expected to be teeing up at the International Series event, the Link Hong Kong Open.
