The first 36 holes will be played over two days on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, April 1st and 2nd. The cut will occur after 36 holes, with the top 30 players and ties advancing. The entire field will then play an official practice round at Augusta National on Friday, April 3rd.

Only the top 30 players will advance to the final round and return on Saturday, April 4, to continue competing at Augusta National, the same course that will host the Masters the following week. If two or more players tie after 54 holes, a sudden-death playoff will determine the champion. Since its inaugural event in 2019, every edition of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur has crowned a champion by a margin of one stroke or through a playoff.

The 2026 field features 48 of the top 72 players in the women’s world amateur golf ranking across 23 countries. World No.1, Kiara Romero, headlines the competition, with last year’s runner-up, Astrid Tally, among the favorites. Two past champions are also in the field: Tsubasa Kajitani (2021) and Anna Davis (2022). Defending champion Carla Bennett Escader has turned professional and will not be defending her title.

Making the cut is one thing, winning is another, and the rewards for doing so extend well beyond the trophy at Augusta National.

What does the Augusta National Women’s Amateur Winner Receive? 

The Augusta National Women’s Amateur offers no prize fund, as it is a strictly amateur event. However, the champion gains invaluable access and opportunities.

The winner receives an invitation to four of the five women’s majors: the Chevron Championship, the U.S. Women’s Open, the Evian Championship, and the AIG Women’s Open. They are also invited to the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateurs, provided they retain their amateur status.

The event’s legacy reinforces its growing stature. ANWA alumnae have combined for 13 wins across the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour, with Jeeno Thitikul leading the way with 13 titles.
