Palm Beach was glowing for Tiger Woods’ fiftieth birthday party and TGR Foundation’s thirtieth anniversary. Vanessa Trump and her daughter, Kai, absolutely stole the show, where Kai absolutely looked like a twin next to her beautiful mother. But a hidden story began to unfold behind those smiles when fans noticed Kai Trump’s left wrist beside her vibrant red dress.

The granddaughter of President Donald J. Trump took to Instagram to share the details about her visit to the TGR Learning Labs and wrote about helping kids grow and chase their big goals quite soon. Fans were quick to spot a thick white cast on her left arm.

Kai worked hard on her wrist work to master her swinging technique recently. She started taking creatine to help build her strength during a heavy building phase. This intense training period seemingly made her underlying physical issues much worse than before. Just days before the gala, she confirmed the surgery via an Instagram statement on January 7th this year.

“Today, I underwent left wrist surgery to address injuries to the stabilizing tissues of my ECU tendon and damage to my triangular fibrocartilage complex,”  Trump posted. “The surgery was successfully performed at the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute by Dr. Thomas Graham, Chief of Jefferson Orthopedics. I look forward to my rehab in the coming months. I am excited for the ability to play golf pain-free!”

Her wrist injury was one of the reasons why her scores dropped during the latest big LPGA events.

While Kai focuses on her healing process, her followers are flooding her page with worried messages.

Fans react to Kai Trump’s setback

After seeing young Kai Trump’s struggle, one spiritual fan said, “Are you okay, beautiful kai God is with you.” It was the genuine concern for most of her fans in the comment section as one elderly fan asked with a motherly tone, “What happened to your arm?”

One fan who has been watching her for a long time repeated the same sentiment, asking, “What’s going on with your wrist? You had a black brace prior to now having a cast.” In early January 2026, during her appearance on the Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul, Kai was spotted wearing a bandage on her wrist. This was the “conservative management” phase before surgery.

Fans in unison wished for her to recover swiftly and get back onto the golf course.

Recovering from an ECU tendon repair usually takes about six full months. Kai’s performance at her LPGA debut (The Annika) was publicly scrutinized after she shot 13-over par. But this long-time fan knows where the problem lies. So they are not worried about the past. They most likely know Kai can miss the Dustin Johnson World Junior event in March. She might even have to skip Dave Portnoy’s big Internet Invitational later this year. The road back to a golf swing requires perfect healing and tons of patience.

So, they are worried about the future. As one fan advised, “U better rest that arm, good luck Miami girl🙌.”  Kai Trump officially committed to the University of Miami’s women’s golf team for the class of 2026 (joining Fall 2026). By labeling her ‘Miami girl,’ the fan wants to see this talented athlete succeed at the next level of her career. Her future team at the University of Miami expects her to arrive healthy this fall.

So, if she rushes her rehabilitation before the Fall 2026 NCAA season, she risks permanent damage. This fan is looking past the current “red dress” photo op and focusing on her long-term value to the Miami Hurricanes.
