As NUCLR GOLF reported, “🚨🏌️⛹🏽♂️ #NEW — Tony Finau has signed an apparel deal with Michael Jordan’s brand @Jumpman23.”
Finau will now be sporting the popular brand with Jordan, with its iconic Jumpman logo. The $46 million PGA Tour star was caught sporting the brand’s attire on his Instagram page.
Reports of Jordan trying to sign high-level Tour players had been circulating since the last few hours, according to Skratch Golf’s Raymond Williams. They first began a day before the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii kicked off. As Williams mentioned, Michael Jordan is actively involved in approving the athletes for sponsorship. As such, it doesn’t come as a surprise that he has chosen Finau as an ambassador.
Jordan and Finau share a great relationship built on admiration and respect. The PGA Tour star has often sported the Air Jordan golf shoes during events. He was always regarded as an unofficial ambassador, considering his enthusiasm for wearing the Air Jordan footwear. Notably, they have also played golf together in the past and the 6-time PGA Tour champion also views Jordan as his role model.
Interestingly, Finau had been hinting at a new deal with Jumpman for some time. His wife, Alayna, usually shares behind-the-scenes videos of him on the road. In one of them, posted on January 12, 2026, he was seen wearing attire from the brand while practicing on the course.

While, Tony Finau may not be working directly with Nike any longer, they do have other golf ambassadors who can lead their campaigns.
Despite losing Tony Finau, Nike still has an impressive lineup of ambassadors
As one of the world’s largest sports apparel brands, Nike has successfully attracted top golfers for sponsorship. So losing Tony Finau to their subsidiary might not hurt them as much as one might imagine.
The brand still has big stars like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Nelly Korda, & Co. on their payroll. Brooks Koepka is also one of their long-standing ambassadors. And considering the buzz he has created after being reinstated by the PGA Tour, Nike would not be too bothered about losing Finau from their lineup at the moment.
On the other hand, the 6-time PGA Tour champion will also work with a brand owned by an athlete he admires. As such, it’s a win-win for everyone.
