“Here’s a question. Normally when an entity violates independent contract law, they deny that it happened and forces the contractor/individual to prove that it did. In this case the PGA Tour blatantly admits they are illegally banning an independent contractor so why doesn’t the DOJ step in and enforce the law? Why does the individual have to sue to enforce the law? DOJ do your fffing job!” – Phil Mickelson. The five-time major champion is calling on the US Department of Justice to intervene on behalf of Wesley Bryan, who has been suspended indefinitely by the PGA Tour for participating in LIV Golf’s “The Duels” event.

His last PGA Tour appearance was in March 2025, where he missed two cuts and had a tie for 25th at the Farmers Insurance Open. He was ranked 169th in the FedExCup standings with $75,068 in earnings. Now, Bryan, who has earned over $5 million on the PGA Tour, expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he’s had but fears this suspension might be the end of his professional golf career. Grant Horvat, a popular YouTube golf star with over a million subscribers, recently received a sponsor’s invitation to play the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship and took to social media to ask for advice on whether he should compete alongside the world’s best golfers. Horvat’s situation contrasts with Bryan’s, and fans are eagerly awaiting the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic event.

Now PGA Tour has released the list of creators confirmed to play at this year’s event, and it’s safe to say fans are not happy with the roster. The Creator Classic field is set for May 7th at the Truist Championship, featuring a lineup of 8 creators and 4 celebrities in a new format. The roster includes popular names like Nadeshot, Josh Richards, Marques Brownlee, Dude Perfect, Paige Spiranac, Sabrina Andolpho, Brad Dalke, Sean Walsh, Matt Scharff, Erik Anders Lang, Claire Hogle, and Josh Kelley.

As the situation unfolds, it raises important questions about the rights of independent contractors and the enforcement of tour regulations. So, fans are not completely satisfied.

Netizens are mad at the PGA Tour

“The Duels: Miami” was a LIV Golf-backed exhibition featuring six LIV players and six social media influencers, with a $250,000 purse. Streamed on Grant Horvat’s YouTube, the event, held two weeks before the Masters, stirred controversy due to potential conflicts with PGA Tour regulations, fueling the ongoing rivalry between the two tours. These parameters are a bit of an annoyance now for most fans.

What’s your perspective on:

Is the PGA Tour's Creator Classic lineup a letdown without Fat Perez and other fan favorites?

Have an interesting take?

Starting strong with one who said, “Wonder why no one from the original Creator Classic at Sawgrass made the field… some did play in LIV Duels, suspensions perhaps?”, while the other said, “Not a great field at all for entertainment. No Fat Perez, Horvat, etc.” Well, Fat Perez not being in the field of this Creator Classic is a bummer indeed, considering the performance he gave in the last one. At the PGA Tour Creator Classic, he finished with a score of +4. This put him in 5th place. He was the only player to make a birdie at No. 17 in regulation, sinking a 50-foot putt, a feat that mimicked Tiger Woods’ “Better Than Most” putt from the 2001 PLAYERS Championship.

One fan said, “Jay even ruined this”, while the other said, “Collabing with LIV in any way equals the death penalty now, I see what a sad day in golf.” Well, it is true, and who better to know that former LIV player Eugenio Chacarra? After departing from LIV Golf, Chacarra expressed frustration with the league’s focus on money over career advancement opportunities, including Official World Golf Ranking points and major championship eligibility. He felt undervalued despite winning a LIV event, and subsequently shifted his focus to the DP World Tour and Asian Tour to qualify for the PGA Tour, where he has already secured a win on the DP World Tour.

One fan said something that we think many will agree with, as they wrote, “Terrible roster.” So, that’s what fans think, but what do you think? Let us know in the comment section below!
