Another broadcast headache for Jay Monahan & Co! The PGA Tour has faced a lot of heat recently for its abrupt broadcasting decisions. The first instance happened during the 2025 Genesis Invitational, where the telecast was focused on Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler despite Ludvig Aberg heading towards a win. The same happened at the 2025 Masters, where a huge part of the first round was not available for broadcast. Fans were furious about missing the first couple of hours of action from Augusta National.

Something similar has now happened in the coverage from TPC Louisville. A few hours after the first round tee-off, the broadcast of the 2025 Zurich Classic has faced an unexpected disruption. It seems like there is a power issue around the venue that has caused this issue. The Shotgun Start tweeted an update about the same with a caption, There’s a power issue at Zurich Classic so they are having technical difficulties which is why you’re getting bonus coverage of PGA Tour Champions.’ Is @TheRealPJClark in the New Orleans area?” As confirmed, the tournament broadcast has been disrupted, and instead, the network is showing action from the Senior Tour.

This received a lot of shade from the community as everyone shared their frustration with the issue. Let’s see what others are saying about it.

Netizens & experts unite to berate the PGA Tour coverage

After some consistent coverage over the past couple of weeks, everyone thought that Jay Monahan & Co. had finally gotten things back on track. But after the 2025 Zurich Classic incident, one
Brian Kirschner tweeted, “Power issue at the zurich classic! No more coverage before CBS at 3pm, I am sick individual for caring about this.” He believes that fans shouldn’t fall for the false hopes given by the PGA Tour.

In response to Kirschner’s tweet, a fan said, “Bonus coverage here on the PGA Tour Champions.” They seemed to have hit two birds with one stone as they informed the analyst of the replacement coverage schedule, and also did so in a sarcastic manner. It’s evident that the fans are frustrated with the PGA Tour. Currently, the Champions Tour is having the final round of the Mitsubishi Electric Championship underway, with Jerry Kelly in the lead.

Josh Carpenter also joined the conversation by tweeting, “Golf Channel randomly cut out, went to commercial for a solid 8+ minutes, came back with live Champs Tour.” Just like every other source, he too confirmed how the PGA Tour broadcast has been shifted to the Champions Tour due to technical issues. The eight minutes of commercials in between would have been quite dreadful.

With LIV Golf Mexico City 2025 being broadcast in parallelly, someone mentioned how this is “Just what LIV wants.” Fans eager to watch some strokeplay today will shift their attention to Bryson DeChambeau and Co. now.

Frustrated with the glaring coverage issues, someone just simply tweeted “Bullsh*t.” The abysmal telecast situation of PGA Tour events seems to have finally caught up to them. Interestingly, there is a stoppage in the broadcast now due to weather issues. This further deteriorates the quality of the events presented by Jay Monahan & Co.
