Brooks Koepka has always been golf’s ultimate mercenary, a man who famously played without an equipment deal for years because he prioritized trophies over checks. But when he finally inked a massive long-term deal with Srixon/Cleveland, a company valued at over $1.3 billion, it signaled a new era of stability for the five-time major champion. That stability has officially splintered. In a move that has sent ripples through the equipment world, Koepka has reportedly terminated his partnership with the golf giant.

“Over the course of their relationship, Brooks served as an exceptional ambassador for the Srixon and Cleveland Golf brands,” a statement on the company’s website said. “His commitment to competing at the highest level of the game, including a major championship victory with Srixon and Cleveland Golf equipment in play, exemplifies the performance standard both brands stand for.”
“Dunlop Sports Americas is proud of what was accomplished together and grateful for the professionalism and dedication Brooks brought to the partnership. DSA wishes him continued success on the PGA Tour.”
For the last five years, Brooks Koepka has been working with Srixon to find his perfect set of clubs.
The 5x major winner and the brand have mutually agreed to conclude their endorsement partnership effective immediately. Koepka signed with Srixon in 2021. The partnership between the two was a successful one. During that period, he moved to LIV Golf, won his fifth major at the PGA Championship, and won a few events in the Saudi-based league before returning to the PGA Tour. However, the 35-year-old seems to be finally done with his kit partner.
Brooks Koepka and Srixon are no more. Sides have “mutually agreed to conclude their endorsement partnership,” effective immediately. Koepka signed with Srixon in 2021, but he never received much publicity after moving to LIV. Recently switched back to a Titleist ball for the Show more
There was evidence that their partnership was not very steady earlier this season when Brooks Koepka switched from a Srixon Z-Star Diamond back to a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball at the Cognizant Classic. He did something like this early on in the partnership as well, but Cleveland/Srixon permitted him to switch balls in 2022 as they worked toward creating a ball tailored to his game.
In the eight tournaments he has played in 2026, Koepka has managed to make the cut in five of them. Just a week ago, he and Shane Lowry came off a missed cut in the 2026 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. That came as a surprise, as they were the favorites to win the tournament.
His best finish of the season was on a course close to his home in Palm Beach Gardens. Koepka grabbed a T9 finish in the 2026 Cognizant Classic back at the end of February with a 10-under par. He hasn’t had any other top-10 finish so far this year.
Brooks Koepka is also building his own path to qualifying for signature events recently. He has also committed to the 2026 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic in the coming days. With him not tied to Srixon anymore, he will be free to choose the exact equipment he needs to give himself the best shot at winning the event.
Interesting, Koepka is not the only one who has cut ties with their old kit partner recently. Another big name on the PGA Tour also made a similar major move.
Justin Rose’s big move; will Kopeka follow?
The equipment landscape shifted significantly this week as Justin Rose ended his long-standing “free agency” to become the lead ambassador for the newly launched McLaren Golf. Unveiled ahead of the Cadillac Championship in Miami, the brand marks the racing giant’s first foray into ultra-premium golf hardware
“So McLaren Golf has been something that’s been on the back burner for a good number of months. Obviously, to launch a brand out of the ground obviously has been going for a lot longer than a year,” Rose explained during his Wednesday presser at Doral. “It’s something I’ve been involved with from the outset, really helping the engineering team, really testing the very first editions of the club.”
He became the first ambassador for the brand after working with the company on development for 2 years. Rose confirmed he plans to use the McLaren 4-iron through the wedge and the pitching wedge. Interestingly, Ian Poulter, fellow English golfer and a LIV team captain, has also signed with McLaren, a decision which Rose claimed he had no part in. “I didn’t get Poulter into it, but you know him,” he said. “He’s such a petrol head.”
The timing couldn’t be more perfect. With Brooks Koepka officially terminating his Srixon deal, industry eyes are on the McLaren bag. While Brooks is currently testing a mixed setup, a “Series 1” partnership would be the ultimate power move for the new brand.
