Having said that, how does the prize money for the tournament compare to the other DP World Tour events?

How does the Alfred Dunhill Championship purse compare to other DP World Tour events?

The 2025 Alfred Dunhill Championship doesn’t boast an impressive purse. $1.76 million prize money is considered quite low when distributed among 65, or in this case, 79 players. But the South African tournament still pays out more than some other events on the DP World Tour calendar.

The tournament with the lowest purse on the European Tour will be played next week. The 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open only offers the prize money of $1.2 million. Played on the Heritage La Réserve Golf Links, the low purse makes it difficult for the event to attract top talent.

Alternatively, the Joburg Open, which is scheduled to be held in the first week of March 2026, also offers a very low purse. Its prize money is only slightly higher than the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at $12.14 million. Lastly, the 2026 Investec South African Open Championship has the prize money of $1.5 million. It will be played in the last week of February 2026.

That makes the purse of the 2025 Alfred Dunhill Championship the fourth-lowest prize money offered on the DP World Tour.
