John Daly says he can “hit balls for maybe 20 minutes, putt a little bit, smoke 4-5 cigarettes, drink three diet cokes, and then go to the first tee,” earning the status of a ‘bad boy’ on the PGA Tour. However, that’s not the only thing he is famous for. There are a lot of stories surrounding this 58-year-old.

Back in 2023, something similar happened. John Daly was supposed to play in the “Beauty vs. The Beast” celebrity charity match against Paige Spiranac at the Lake Geneva, Wisconsin course, but he didn’t. Everything was set, and suddenly, the night before the event, Daly called the organizers and said he wasn’t going to make it due to a flare-up of knee pain and sciatica. One of them recently emerged where the senior golfer nearly snubbed American sports broadcaster, Rich Eisen, much like he did Paige Spiranac in 2023.

John Daly keeps ESPN Reporter in limbo

On Rich Eisen’s YouTube channel, comedian Bert Kreischer recently joined the “Bert Kreischer: Why John Daly is a Long Drive Champion…in More Ways Than One” podcast. While they talked about many hilarious moments, Rich Eisen also talked about an incident when he invited Daly on the show, saying I invited him on the show, and he goes, I’ll absolutely come, but later, John Daly somewhat ghosted Eisen.

That’s right. Eisen tried to contact the senior golfer multiple times, but he didn’t answer. “We got a plan. So is John Daly coming? I texted, no answer. No answer. I’m like, well, I don’t know if he’s coming. So sure enough, the day that it hits,” he revealed. Then suddenly, the 58-year-old appeared out of nowhere!

Eisen hilariously added, “And at the time that he said he was gonna show up where we look, and he’s standing right behind you out there on. On the walkway behind you, just like waving, like I’m here. And he rolled out, and he appeared on the show.” Interestingly, this incident turned into a hilarious, memorable moment.
