Nearly every top American player has a playing partner at Bethpage. Scottie Scheffler will certainly team up with Russell Henley. The two absolutely annihilated the International side during the 2024 Presidents Cup. Patrick Cantlay may have been picked for the team because he makes a great pair with Xander Schauffele. However, there is one player who still doesn’t have a definite partner in 2025. And that’s Bryson DeChambeau.

The LIV Golf pro is not unfamiliar with the concept of team competition. However, neither of his teammates nor league-mates is representing Team U.S. in the 2025 Ryder Cup. What’s more? Everyone else in the team is familiar with each other as they often play together on the PGA Tour. However, DeChambeau’s style of play will still be alien to them when they take the course in New York in the next few days. While he wanted to be paired with Keegan, that cannot happen now, obviously. So, how will Keegan Bradley decide who to pair with Bryson?
As fans know, Bryson is known for hitting long drives and is an excellent scrambler. So having him at the tee spot regularly is a given. On par 4s, he might be put in a position to hit long-range putts. He would be hitting the short-distance wedge shots or scrambles on par 5s. So it would certainly play into his strength. However, he would need the right partner in foursome contests to ensure that they produce the best results. And there are a few who can fulfil that role.

Cameron Young
Ever since the conversation about picking Bryson DeChambeau’s foursome partner began, Cameron Young was put forth as the strongest candidate. The biggest reason he was considered so was because both he and the LIV Golf pro use the same golf ball, the ProV1x Double Dot Prototype, as pointed out by a fan on Jamie Kennedy’s tweet.

Nice to have @jonathanrwall on slack….
Was aware of this but wanted to keep it pretty general. There may be slight variations in models across the board but definitely interesting to see Cam (top 10 putter in golf this year) using the same ball as Bryson (top of 10 driver) 👀 pic.twitter.com/lBfDBqT64b

If Bradley does decide to put them in the same team for foursomes, then the two won’t have to adjust to different types of golf balls during the round. That would make it extremely convenient for them to play together as a team. However, that is not the only reason Young would make such a good teammate for DeChambeau. The 28-year-old is also excellent on the green. In fact, he has been one of the best with the putter on the PGA Tour this season. That would certainly help Bryson DeChambeau, who had the 9th-best putting average in LIV Golf in 2025.
Sam Burns
You can’t talk about putting without mentioning Sam Burns. There is no one on the PGA Tour whom DeChambeau can trust more on the green than Burns. Despite a winless season, he has been the best with the putter throughout 2025. In fact, he gains an average of nearly 1 stroke per round from putting. The next best player who has mastered the art of reading greens is not even playing the Ryder Cup. So, it would be wise to have Sam team up with Bryson just for his putting ability.
Bringing Burns to Bethpage. 🇺🇸

But if Keegan Bradley needs more than one reason to be convinced of pairing Burns & DeChambeau in foursomes, then there certainly are many more. While the 2-time U.S. Open champion might be great at hitting long drives, he is not as accurate off the tee. And has been known to find the bunker often. Luckily for him, Burns is excellent at making sand saves. In 2025, he has saved 63.72% of his bunker shots. He’s also great at scrambling. And if you’re putting Bryson DeChambeau on the tee, then you will need someone like Sam Burns, who is good at scrambling, to clear the mess from the roughs and bunkers.
J.J. Spaun
Being a Ryder Cup rookie, J.J. Spaun will have big boots to fill at Bethpage this year. Fortunately, he has been in spectacular form recently and will be extremely confident to represent Team U.S.. He has the right artillery to fill all the gaps that Bryson DeChambeau might leave open if they were to team up for foursomes in New York.
Spaun’s biggest strengths in 2025 have been his approach shots. He is especially great with short-distance chips, which is ideally the situation a player like DeChambeau might get him into from the tee box. However, Spaun doesn’t shy away from hitting long-distance iron shots of up to 200 yards as well. In fact, he’s ranked 7th on the PGA Tour for hitting long-range approach shots this season.
While neither of the players really masters putting, they do know how to land close to the cup. That makes the pairing of Bryson DeChambeau and J.J. Spaun a lethal combination. It won’t come as a surprise if Keegan Bradley picks them to play one or both of the foursome rounds together at Bethpage.
Ben Griffin
After winning his first couple of PGA Tour titles in 2025, Ben Griffin must be very happy at the moment. While his dopamine and endorphin levels must be at an all-time high, he is also extremely confident, and it reflects on the course. In fact, fans witnessed a glimpse of that in the first couple of rounds of the 2025 Procore Championship as they saw the PGA Tour pro sitting comfortably at the top of the leaderboard with a 3-stroke lead.

While confidence will play a key role in his getting along with Bryson, Ben also has the necessary skills to complement the LIV Golf pro. This year, his biggest strengths have been his approach shots and putting. He has been somewhat bad at driving, which is something he won’t have to worry about as long as he is teamed with Bryson. All he has to do is hit excellent irons, wedges, and putters to help his team get a vital point in every round. With the Crushers GC captain driving long and Ben Griffin finding the cup later, Team U.S. will be unbeatable, at least in one of their pairings.
Other honorable mentions would be Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, and Harris English. Either of them good be a good match for Bryson. Who he plays with will also have to depend on who he plays against. But the most compatible players to Bryson DeChambeau’s style of play are certainly Cameron Young and Sam Burns.
