Death, in any form, is very hard to take. That is something the Mercedes crew is going through right now. As the German team is all set to pay a tribute to their engineer in Mexico, it’s important to know who he was.

Recently deceased Anthony Lane was a remarkably talented mechanical engineer who worked at the Mercedes AMG F1’s Powertrains division. Lane, who died a sudden death at the age of just 26, has left everyone around him in shock.

Lane, joined the German team as a graduate and was a part of the Brackley-based team during their success phase in 2019-2021. The team from Brackley are all set to pay a tribute to their late engineer. Mercedes shared a picture of their tribute livery and a picture of him on their official Twitter handle with tribute captions.

The post that Mercedes put up on their Twitter account said, “Last weekend, we sadly lost our colleague and friend, Anthony Lane. A talented young Mechanical Engineer at Mercedes-AMG HPP, Anthony joined our family in 2019 on the graduate scheme. We’ll be running his name on the car this weekend in his honour”

How did Anthony Lane of Mercedes die?

At the time of publishing this article, there were no official statements or confirmations that solidify the exact reason for Lane’s death. The official sources or people close to him didn’t open up on the exact reason of the young man’s death.

However, some people believe that he might have died of cancer. Cancer, which was discovered very late, took his life so early on. Some people also believe in the theory that Anthony Lane might have had a car accident.
