The beloved Lewis Hamilton is feeling the support of the entire world. The seven-time world champion and an ambassador of the sport against racism experienced just that. And sadly, it was another F1 world champion, Nelson Piquet Sr. who used a racial slur to refer to the Briton.

Following Piquet’s remark, the entire F1 community issued statements to support Hamilton. The solidarity and support pouring toward the Mercedes world champion is overwhelming.

Every statement supporting Hamilton follows a common theme. The theme being what a true gentleman the Mercedes man is.

Charles Leclerc posted a story saying, “Knowing Lewis Since I arrived in Formula 1, he has always been kind and respectful to me and everyone he meets — The comments made towards Lewis should not be tolerated, and we should continue to push for a more diverse and inclusive sport.”

In Daniel Ricciardo‘s message, the theme remains the same. It said, “I want to acknowledge Lewis and all the work he has done both on and off the track to not only spread messages of equality but combat the hate.”

Other drivers like Pierre Gasly shared a photo in support that read, “You can’t love the culture and not support the people”. George Russell also shared a tweet supporting his teammate and voiced Hamilton’s contribution to the sport.

Esteban Ocon’s statement read, “He has done so much for F1, on and off track, and we are proud to have him at the forefront of our fight for further diversity and inclusion in motorsport.”

Second: Most podiums on home soil. Level with Frenchman Alain Prost at 11 each, another podium at Silverstone will move Hamilton to 12.
