Mercedes is receiving backlash from fans and rivals alike and Toto Wolff is caught up in the middle of everything. The Mercedes Boss has been struggling since he lost the championship in 2021 and the recovery is yet to be made. Lewis Hamilton decided to leave the team for Ferrari as, according to him, the Silver Arrow is pointing backward and all eyes are on Toto Wolff at the moment.

Trying to defend the situation Mercedes is in, the team principal released a statement to instill confidence in the fans, but this did not come without some harsh feedback. About the Chinese Grand Prix, Toto Wolff stated, “The headline results didn’t necessarily show it, but we made solid progress with our car in Japan. We are looking forward to building on that this weekend.”

But as everyone saw, Lewis Hamilton finished 9th at both the last 2 races that he completed. Following the engine failure at the Australian Grand Prix, it feels like very little has been done to improve the car as per the results Mercedes is showing. This was picked up by fans, and the comments section started to get filled with the unhinged reaction of Mercedes fans.

Mercedes fans want justice

Among all the comments that were pouring in, the one that resonated with most fans was a shot taken at Toto Wolff. The comment stated that the Mercedes boss is not trustworthy and cares more about PR and the business side of the sport. This accusation states that Wolff is uninterested in the racing aspect of the team and he will need to gain the fan’s trust if he wants them to stick around.

Unsure of how Mercedes will perform in the future, this X user commented saying they are excited to see the progress the team is making. But on the other hand, they are also concerned that there is no progress, as Mercedes is still experimenting to find the best outcome.

So far, Mercedes has not figured out what is wrong with the W15, and it’s evident to everyone. One excuse that has shown up in the past from Toto Wolff is one of him saying that they are still trying to understand the car. This fan stated that Toto Wolff’s will disappoint again only to repeat his statement of defense.

Considering the finishes the team has had in their recent races, this comment stated that Mercedes will again be scraping for points.
