We’re a little more than halfway through the 2022 F1 season and the silly season merry-go-round is at full swing now. It was all kicked off by Sebastian Vettel and then later pounced upon by Fernando Alonso. Now, we’re all aware of the incidents that followed.

However, after the Belgian GP, news surrounding another driver is emerging out of the paddocks. The driver in question? Mick Schumacher!

With no official confirmation, there’s talk in the paddocks that Schumacher’s services will not be retained by Haas for 2023. The young German spent two years in the premier class with the US-based team, but there might not be a third. Despite improvements in the last few races, Haas will possibly not renew Schumacher, which leaves him with two options.

Alpine and Williams are possible destinations with Esteban Ocon wanting the German to be his next teammate. However, despite the shuffle, there’s another piece of news that is disappointing in terms of legacy.

Mick Schumacher’s Ferrari affiliation will also end at the end of the current season. The German became part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and the contract will come to a “natural end” in December. This also means the much celebrated Schumacher name is not making its way to Ferrari soon.

It will be disappointing to see Mick lose out on a drive for the next season, especially after he has picked up the pace in the last few races and scored some much-deserved points.
