Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and it witnesses big star power at many Grand Prix. This time around in the Mercedes garage was Matthew McConaughey cheering on Lewis Hamilton.

This is not the first time we have seen the American actor be a part of the F1 paddock. He was present amidst the celebrations of Hamilton’s sixth world title at the Austin GP in 2019. This time around he celebrated the team’s maiden double podium finish of the season.

The Dazed and Confused star attending the event sent the F1 Twitter into a frenzy. It elated the fans to see their beloved superstar in the German camp and here is what the fans had to say.

Lewis Hamilton 4 consecutive podium finishes

Walking into the weekend, the Briton reached another milestone in his 15-year career. He joined the 300 race club alongside Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, and Rubens Barrichello. Notably, none of these drivers have won a race after their 300th start, but Hamilton showed promising signs with a P2 finish.

The seven-time champion is on a streak of four podium finishes which started at the Canada GP. This has helped him find his voice back in the championship, after a struggling first half of the season. He received a lot of backlash after falling down the pecking order, but he kept his cool and let his driving do the talking.

Mercedes introduced new parts for the W13 at Le Castellet. However, the first two days of the weekend were not how the Germans expected. The Brackley outfit found itself puzzled with how the new pieces function and was afraid of a poor result in the Grand Prix.

Yet, it achieved its best result of the season so far. Both Hamilton and Russell soaked each other with champagne and brought home big points for the team. How do you rate the 37-year-old’s performance at the French GP?
