Charles Leclerc must have endured another rollercoaster of emotions similar to one at Monaco. The Ferrari driver earned another pole position this week at Azerbaijan and even got congratulations from his former teammate, Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel even joked about telling to be aware of his rear-view mirrors as he would be coming to overtake him. In the end the German was right as Vettel finished in P2 ahead of Leclerc who came 4th.

Sebastian Vettel thinks Charles Leclerc can provide him with more luck

Speaking to Sky Germany, Vettel said, I congratulated him on his pole because he made such a great lap. I told him that he should look in his rear mirrors because I am coming. He smiled. He was there in parc ferme to congratulate me and I told him [see I told you]. Maybe I should text him more.”

After spell of bad runs in his new chapter this year, Vettel brought home a podium finish by coming second in the race. Their first-ever podium as Aston Martin, The best result they have had and hope they perform like this more often in the future.

How did Leclerc do around the streets of Baku?

The 23-year-old was pleased with the pole position that he achieved during Saturday’s qualifying session. Many suspected that starting from pole would see the young Ferrari driver cross the line in first place at the Azerbaijan GP.

However, it wasn’t meant to be, as Leclerc lost the lead to Hamilton and from then onwards it went downhill for him. At the second start of the race, after the red flag did save his weekend, as he crossed the line fourth place, nearly missing out on podium finish.

The Monégasque driver will be grateful for learning 12 points from this weekend as things could be much worse. For now Leclerc would like to improve on his form a better for the next.
