The Saudi Arabian GP saw a comeback from Red Bull after their dismal season opener in Bahrain. The team looked quick throughout the weekend. Sergio Perez clinched the first pole of his career, while Max Verstappen went on to pip Charles Leclerc to win in Jeddah.

The weekend will be a massive confidence boost at Red Bull and also please the hierarchy. They now look like they have serious pace and will take this fight for the title all the way.
Helmut Marko on battle with Ferrari
Red Bull took the fight to Ferrari this weekend in Jeddah. The team took pole with Sergio Perez and snatched the win away from Charles Leclerc. Most importantly they showed that they are in it to win it this season. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko didn’t hold back praising his driver, “If Max sees his chance, he will go for it. His overtakes are incredible.”

He also spoke on the rivalry with Ferrari and said, “Mercedes is at least half a second too slow at the moment,”. Dr. Marko added, “I think it’s more beautiful to fight with Leclerc and Ferrari than with Mercedes.“
He also commented on their rivalry from last year, “It is now more on a sporting level. I know we’ve only had two races, but I don’t think it will escalate like Mercedes.”
This battle does look like a tasty one and one that will unfold even more in the coming races.
Saudi Round-Up
The Saudi GP provided its fair share of twists and turns. From Lewis Hamilton going out in Q1 to Sergio Perez‘s maiden pole, it was an exciting weekend all around. The race was enthralling as well with 5 DNFs. Max Verstappen pipped Charles Leclerc in the closing stages to add a final twist to the tale.

The race saw Ferrari extend their lead in the constructors’ standings and Red Bull collect their first points of the season. McLaren also put up points on the board with Lando Norris finishing p7. Carlos Sainz picked up another podium for the season, finishing in P3.
