Absolutely no one can deny the superiority of Max Verstappen in the last two seasons. The Dutchman has been devastatingly dominant and has been breaking records one after the other. He added another trophy to his cabinet after the Japanese GP Sprint race. The Red Bull man has cemented his legend in the sport with his third championship. His claim on the 2023 championship was never in doubt just after the first ten races. However, before he won the third championship, for his girlfriend Kelly Piquet, the Dutchman wasn’t able to impress the Brazilian model.

The 26-year-old has managed to impress every single F1 entity with his performances so far. However, Verstappen himself admitted, even after winning two championships, he needs to catch up to her father Nelson Piquet to impress her. During an interview when asked if Piquet ever addressed him as a two-time champion or just ‘Max’. To this Verstappen revealed, “Definitely not the first one. It’s probably also not that impressive to her, right? Her dad is a three-time world champion, so I still need to catch up.”

However, now, the Brazilian model has made a three-worded admission that proves Verstappen has equaled & triumphed her father’s achievement. Max wrapped up the driver’s championship in Qatar GP’s Sprint race.

During the post-Sprint race interview, Kelly Piquet was asked, “Is your heart coming out of your mouth?” To this, Piquet simply replied, “I’m so proud (Of Max)” as seen on Instagram.

The couple has been going strong since 2019 and there has been no hint of a fumble in their relationship despite Verstappen’s busy life on the road. These efforts to maintain their relationship are also appreciated by Verstappen’s mother.

In an interview, she said, “Kelly is of course a bit older. She has a little child. They’ve created some sort of a little family. And I think that Max maybe missed that when he was young. And I also think such stability has helped him in F1, as he knows that someone is waiting for him at home.”

“She (Kelly Piquet) also comes from a racing family, So she understands everything. When you see how sweet she is to her child. But also for his sister and for me, he has his heart in the right place,” she concluded.
