This is not just for the Abu Dhabi GP, Mercedes’ chief engineer Andrew Shovlin revealed the agreement between the two ahead of the Brazilian GP race.

The Mercedes men earned the team a much-needed win and 1-2 in Brazil. However, after the events of the sprint race, the two drivers decided on a hypothetical aspect of the race.

Shovlin revealed, “We’ve seen some incidents in other teams across the course of the weekend, particularly in the sprint race. Our two looked it in and said ‘we wouldn’t do that to each other’. So it’s nice to see when you’re in a position as a team when you can just let them go for it and have some fun,”

The two have consistently helped their team improve and are now fighting for the second spot in the WCC. They would need 20 more points than Ferrari in the final race to leapfrog them for the P2 spot. Can Mercedes build on their excellent run and finish on a high in Abu Dhabi?
