George Russell is one of the most popular drivers on the grid in Formula One right now. But it looks like his popularity might rise to another level as the Mercedes driver has joined the social media platform TikTok.

The German team took to social media to share the news that the British driver has joined the social networking platform. They shared the first TikTok video of the driver on their Twitter page.

But F1 fans took to Twitter to reveal that Russell, despite joining TikTok and being young, will never beat former Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas‘ popularity on the platform.

The Finnish driver is very popular on the platform and is often sharing his antics there. Fans too mentioned that the now Mercedes driver will never be as good as Bottas.

George Russell surprised with his 2022 results despite not so fast Mercedes

The Mercedes driver has impressed everyone with his consistent performances in the 2022 season. He currently sits second in the driver’s championship behind Charles Leclerc and ahead of his 7-time world champion teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Russell himself acknowledged he is shocked why his current position in the driver’s standings. But he gave a very logical reason behind his consistent performances in the first 3 races of the season.

“It doesn’t matter how fast the car is. If you don’t make it to the end, then you are not there to pick up the pieces. It is just crazy to think [I am second in the championship]. Someone told me and I didn’t believe them,” said Russell.

It would be interesting to see if George can continue to perform on this level throughout the season. He can only be better as Mercedes will improve in terms of performance during the season.

But Russell has to be careful that he should not make any mistakes going forward as his teammate might pounce on them. Both he and Hamilton are currently working together very well on and off the track to push the team forward.

So it would be interesting to see how he will match up against his experienced teammate when they have a fast car. Hopefully, he can continue to challenge and race like this against Lewis throughout the season.
