Max Verstappen has impressed us all. If not in the earlier seasons, this season is sure to have changed a lot of opinions on the Red Bull frontman. However, according to his father, Jos Verstappen, there is one entity that has failed to appreciate Max’s talent.

Verstappen is proving to be a growing titan of the sport. The Dutchman has put up a solid fight against Lewis Hamilton, who has defended his crown for seven years. Although, Jos Verstappen believes Mercedes is turning a blind eye to Verstappen’s surge. “Red Bull knows how good Max is, Mercedes doesn’t yet. And that might be a good thing for them too.”

Elucidating why it’s beneficial that the Silver Arrows are ignorant about his son, Jos explained the beauty of Verstappen beginning and ending his career with Red Bull; thus, free of being poached by Mercedes. “How nice would it be, if you start here and, eventually, stop and be successful? Why not? As long as he has a winning car.”

Max’s contract with Red Bull ends in 2023. However, Jos hopes to see his son in the Milton Keynes outfit for a long time. “We know what we have in common. It clicks and we have a good time.”
