The Pre-season predictions and Bahrain GP have brought to light that Mercedes have yet again failed the 7x champion by not providing him with a race-winning car. The highest of finishing third like last year seems to be slipping away from them as Aston Martin has arrived. This only points in one direction which makes indicated that a win #104 does seem really shy of the Englishman’s tally.

There were a few very solid takeaways from the first race of the 2023 season organized in Bahrain. Red Bull improved the best version of their car which puts Max Verstappen pretty much in contention for this year’s championship. Aston Martin has aims higher than the midfield. And there is Mercedes who has miserably failed again. The last observation brings us to a question the Lewis Hamilton and Silver Arrows fans have been dreading over the past year. Will Lewis fall prey to the 300 GP mark curse? or can he defy the odds like he always has and make it happen? An F1 pundit making the prediction tilts in the favor of the darker side of things.

Lewis was quoted by the Irish Sun, “We know we are not where we need to be, and we know that this isn’t the right car. It is a difficult one. But I’ve just got to try and stay positive, keep my head up, and keep pushing the guys. Keep trying to be a positive light for them and get the best points I can.”

Being a realist and acknowledging the gaps in the development, he added, “We have just got a lot of work to do. We have just got to add downforce to the car, we’re lacking a lot of downforce. That is really where the time will come. As soon as we put more load on the rear and the front we’ll pick up that pace.”
