The F1 2022 season is in the seventh round, which has taken everyone to the principality of Monaco. However, the ongoing season hasn’t been kind to Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes team. The Silver Arrows were a powerhouse F1 team who dominated this motorsport for the past few years, but they are struggling to get to the front this season. However, their ace Hamilton still hopes for a win with the German team.

The Brackley base has enjoyed three podiums so far this season, but all were third-place finishes. Further, two out of three P3 finishes were from the new addition George Russell. Undoubtedly, the young Brit is giving his seven-time world champion teammate a tough time. According to the Mercedes duo, they struggled with the W13 because of the significant porpoising issues.

The German constructors introduced an improved W13 in Spain last week, which helped Russell bag his second P3. Even Hamilton finished P5 even after losing positions because of a collision with Kevin Magnussen at the start of the race. The 37-year-old is confident that his team might soon catch up to Red Bull and Ferrari and even start winning races.

Hamilton said, “I’m dead set on getting a win, at least one win this year. So that’s what we’re working towards, but it’s going to be tough, of course. We’ve seen what the competition is like, but they’re not invincible, and the problems that we have… we’re learning more and more about it.”

“So I’m hopeful that we’re going to be properly in the fight with the top two teams in the coming races,” the seven-time world champion further continued.

Hamilton worried about the bumpy Monaco track

The Silver Arrows looked strong after their improvements in Spanish GP. However, it was too early for them to be at ease cause the Monaco circuit might be huge trouble. After the Friday practice, the Billion Dollar Man talked about how much the car was bouncing on the street circuit, and it was worse than any other track so far this season.

“It’s the bumpiest the track has ever been,” Hamilton reported after Friday practice. “It’s like… eyeballs coming out of the sockets. It’s the bumpiest rollercoaster ride ever.”
